Well hello,
My name is Clay, new to DirtOval.com and hoping that this will be a good informative site... I don't see a lot of action here but it seems to me that is the way of (some fun) things at the moment.

I've been into RC for a long time, and mostly been flying planes (including electric & nitro) for the past 15+ years. My wife has always been into Sprint Cars; years ago I picked up a Losi mini-slider for her but never really got a chance to use/race it. Electric wasn't cutting it for her, she likes the added excitement and smell from a nitro engine so last month I was able to find a couple of HoBao 1/8 nitro sprinters. They are pretty awesome, and she's definitely got a lot more interest in running RC now which is great.

Now, our daughter is also very interested, and I've got my eyes open to find another nitro sprint car. Leaning toward what appears to be a Klein car on ebay for her, I know it's "only" 1/10 scale however there seems to be a lot more support for 1/10 cars. She really likes the idea of running scale Hoosier tires, and of course running VP fuel.

Racing? Well here in Sonoma County, CA, there is a club that races electric mini-B conversions. So we're on our own for now. I'd say nobody around here really appreciates nitro powered vehicles anyway, that is until they see/hear/smell them run. Mostly when we go out to a school baseball field I'm just waiting for someone to kick us out, although that has not happened yet. The baseball field surface is halfway decent to run these on, and we just set up a small track using some orange cones.

Anyway, that's a bit of how I ended up here and I'm looking forward to learning more about this interesting sport.

My wife's #85 car. Currently powered by the Mac star .28, being replaced soon with an SH .21 3-port

My #9 car. It has a custom wrap from the previous owner and looks pretty good (the sponsors phone numbers appear to be current too). Powered by a Dynamite .21 XP Platinum for now.

I ended up purchasing what appears to be a Klein chassis sprint for my daughter. It definitely needs work but she's going to be learning. Shocks need oil, need to figure out what RX battery to use and the 1/8 starter box is in the wrong orientation for the 1/10 car. The hood doesn't seem to fit well, and it's missing the front wing. It looks like some Custom Works panels should fit this car, and we'll probably get both wings from them as well so she can then do a custom wrap. A set of Pro-Line Hoosiers are on the way already.

From what I understand, it has an RC10GT drivetrain and parts are available for it still. The engine looks to be a "Sirio" .12. This car sure is a lot lighter than the 1/8 cars but it will still be fun racing around as a family.
