Looking to upgrade my Radio. Been using Spektrum DX3R for years and it is getting tired. I do have a pile of recievers, but newest is DSM2 tech. Looking for something that will work well for the money. If you think big money must be spent please explain your answer. I am open to any and all brands. Thanks in advance.

Well I’m returning to this hobby after 20 something years away so I’m admittedly not the expert on this, but I’ve always leaned towards Futaba. I’ve got a 4PV that I’m super stoked about. Seems to have plenty of features I’ll never use! Lol

Check www.serpentamerica.comSanwa has a very nice lineup of radios that would serve you well. The M12 and MT44 are very popular. |

I used a 3R for years also, a great setup IMO. The roller that scrolled to different sections started to act up so I replaced it with a 4R Pro, nice radio but it feels too light in my hand. Other than that it works perfectly..

Hi...After having and using a gaggle of radios from Spektrum to Tactic to FrSky, I'll still continue to recommend the Jumper T8SG as a radio for both newbie and seasoned pilot alike. It's smaller and lighter than almost all full function brand boxes, some might consider too small and light (not me). The sticks work quite smoothly, too soon to tell their overall durability. There was an issue with the earlier versions that required the box to be opened to access the USB port in order to update the firmware, but that was been corrected awhile ago and USB access is easy via the tx's bottom hatch. printed circuit assembly

Futaba radios are great and I know a ton of people who use them. That being said, the one I see people using are in the $700 range. Not sure if you want to get out of spektrum or not if you want to stay the DX4C and DX5C are great I have both and in my opinion the DX4C is better and lays all the info out cleaner. But if you do want a Futaba I would look into looking for one used, some sites have them used for as low as $50 if you’re lucky.
