I'm considering building a ProMod SC vehicle and am wondering what is the benefit/advantage of the conversions for these? Do they lower the center of gravity a bit, are there any geometry changes or are they just a chassis plate that accommodates body mounts better for this particular class. Most that I have looked at seem to simply mimic the donor car mounting points with a couple of exceptions where the servo is moved around. Anyway, just wondering since I can't find good information on FB, where most of these suppliers seem to live.

I notice there are no rules in place for SC mod /SC late model. Might there be something soon? Just curious.

The SC Mod conversions are all over the place. Some are simply off-road SC trucks with aftermarket body mounts and some are ground up purpose build oval race trucks and everything in between. What are the benefits? Remember the off-road SC trucks were designed to jump and run a truck body. Oval SC Mods will never need to jump and will need to get around a corner at a much higher speed than an off-road truck. The conversions and the purpose builts change the fundamental design and handling characteristics of the off-road truck to make them work much better on oval tracks. There are many companies and individuals making these conversions... GFRP, Evolution Racing Concepts, Plan B, Bodies by Ed, Factory 41, AFX Fab and more. Most tracks use RCCB rules for SC Mod. Head over to www.rcchilibowl.com and go to the rules section.

Thanks, got a chance to get eyes on a lot of different cars at the West Coast Nationals this last weekend, and I see what you are talking about! A lot of choices and some do a lot to get the CG down for a better handling vehicle.
