So I’m getting back into the swing of things and wondering what batteries to get for 13.5t buggy street stock. Any thoughts on which shorties to get?

If you are going to be racing at a track I would check with the owner or staff to see what they let people run since some are different at my track if someone wants to run street stock we will combine street stock with traxxas slash MDM cars so what batteries we ran at the time (the track hasn’t run street stock at all in a few years), we used any ROAR approved LiPo battery that was 2 cell and had maximum 50c burst and 5200mah. However that might be different for where you plan to run it. Hope this helps.

The rules package for my track spec's 2s x 4600 7.4v LiPo 'Shorty'. This seems the best all around compromise of performance, weight and chassis fit. Track supports one 21.5R, four 17.5T and one 13.5 FT power units.

Exception is a waivered 2s x 4600 7.6v HV LiPo 'Shorty' for the 21.5. Trying this battery on an interim test basis hoping to raise the performance level of the 21.5 to the slowest of the 17.5's. Also under consideration is a move to 7.6v HV as spec for the 2022 season?

So far have run the gamut of 2s x 3500 shorty, 2s x 4200 shorty and 2s x 5000 full length. All were adequate within their specific application, but spec'ing a battery was the most economical way to put together a racing program. The 2s x 4600 LiPo 'Shorty' won out.

Cheers. 'AC'
