Tom, on electric sprint is a bolink sprint body on a b3 chassis ok. What about width? I use truck wheels on the rear with the inside flange cut off so it makes for a little wider track.

Hey looks good Murray. I plan on running a lot of dirt this summer. Plan on bringing the son too. Is the Custom Works gearbox going to be legal in the stock class? Might be a couple more guys coming up to race this year.
You have any Sprinters for sale?
Also, is the club website working? If it is, send me the address, please.

racerrandy, Sorry, but it must have a cage. I have seen a couple of B3's that had custom works cages on them, with the sides of the chassis trimmed.
Mike, the Custom Works gearbox is legal in the Stock oval class, as is anything with a gearbox and a stock motor.
The web site is up and running, with our schedule.
I might have a sprinter or 2 for sale but that will be a little later after we see how the Novak Brushless holds-up in the Gear-box car.
But so far so good with it, lots and lots of power/torque..
We could race tonight, but it would be BOATS only, when is the rain going to end????

Tom,
This will be the second year in a row that your "big" race is the same as the Nitro Tour stop in PA. I really would have liked to come but am already obligated to the PA race. If you move it, I will come..LOL
Good luck this year, I will try to get some guys together and maybe come down for a weekend race.

Ok thanks Tom. Whats most people run for sprint, custom works or rd ent. Also if I come up what tires work on your track? I am assuming I could run my sprinter in the stock oval class.
tom murray
May 11th, 2003, 1:04 PM
Randy,
Yes, you can run a gear-box sprinter in the stock class. But all of the sprints usually run in just the sprint class which allow mod motors.
Both types of sprinters R&D(Barts)and Custom works. Gear-box and Direct drive.
Tires would be any rubber buggy type tire. Bow-ties and hole-shots..
Thanks

Hey Tom, think you might be interested in making a road trip to Kansas City for a race? Trying to get a group to go around the end of July. We could meet at my house and all ride together. I can drive, enough room for 3 guys with gear.

Mike,
Just finished the b-3 conversion intimidator yesterday.. I will have to try it out Saturday night, but I will have the Direct drive ready to go... And yes, I think that I'll only run 2 or three classes this saturday...
Send me an e-mail on this Kansas City trip, but it will be hard for me to get away..
And yes, I think I could have gone 39 with the Direct drive, I remember being in front when the diff loosened up...:)

Hello All,
One month and counting till the 3rd annual Illinois R/C Dirt Nationals....
The oval is faster than it's been in awhile..
It was just reshaped last week, great banking and super nice transitions onto the straights...
The track record was almost broken last week in the Electric sprint class. And the Mod oval guys are really flying!! 6 seecond laps on a 240ft oval thats cooking...
Thanks for all of the E-Mails and keep them coming.. I have info on Motels and resturants foranyone that might need them.
Thanks

Hey Murray, got the car flyin at Allen's Saturday night. Blew the idler out of the stealth in the first so I ran the direct drive setup in the second heat and ran a 5.99 and 6.00 lap. The car was way off the setup though and had some really bad laps. Kevin gave me a new idler for the main and the car really flew. 37@4:03 8 double for this Saturday. :D
