Hey eagleone, sounds great!
What do you think your entry fee's will be?
First I have to travel over a hour
( 1 way ) to get to a track, then a small fourtune in entry fee's to race.
Father $12.00
2 - Son's $24.00
extra class $ 6.00
Gas $10.00
Refreshments $20.00
----------
$72.00 For a day of racing!

That is just one thing that hurts the R/C
hobby, not even including the cost these days in equipment in order to race.

Will you have any family deals?
Lower entry fee's?

See ya at your first practice!
Can not wait!
Equipment dying to be used!
Racers dying to abuse! LOL!

Daaaaaamn, your a rough crowd!! He's not even opened up and your beatin' the man down... on his pricing and unexpected delays. Sheeesh... guess he shouldn't have told anyone until the day before he opened.

Abner41, look at it this way;

nite out with the guys - minimum of $50 and a chance at getting your name in the paper ($1500)
Day on the lake with your boat ($8,000), gas, fuel, food - $75
A day at any waterpark in NY $150 ($5000 car to get you there) [/list] So given those alternatives, isn't RC cheaper after the initial investment?

Yo Keith! Ole Pal!

Do not give me the business on the cost!
I know! Also many people have expressed
their views on these costs to me!
Like I care these days!

I'm asking eagleone, not telling him!

Some of the overcompetive individuals
in this hobby,(Including myself) have
made it vertually impossible for some
to even enter certain classes. And
compete for a win!

This is a hobby!

Not empting my bank account, due to the
fact I choose to compete in something that
puts me and my 9 year old son on the same
playin field. Not many hobbies, or sports
allow that.

Might as well take that $70.00 a week
X
4 Weeks
And get a boat, or snowmobiles, or ATV's.
And get out of this hobby, or not get into
it to begin with all together.
And continue to help kill what once was the
fastest growing hobby in America.

I've supported tracks when others haven't!
I've spent the big bucks to enter races,
and on the equipment to compete!
And provided a place to do this hobby
as well!

Some don't have the money anymore!!!!!!!!
But some have equipment!
And others do not choose to spend that kind
of money on toys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Keith I do have a idea on what hurts
this hobby! Plenty of B.S.!

I have alot more to say, and if you choose
we can talk about it face to face!
I'm easy to pick out in a crowd, ole pal!

And I more than many others, hope that
these gentlemen,(who are gonna put forth
more effort, than they are ever gonna get
out of it.) succeed in their efforts!
Of providing another track to help keep
this FUN hobby going!

My 2 favorite sayings that I have learned
while competeing in this hobby are:
Lifting is racing!
Flat out is expensive!

Give grown men toys to play with, and
watch them become bickering little children.

A loose cannon hobby enthusiast!
Opinions are like ^##^%^$*, everyone has 1!
Better to be expressed to someones face
than behind someones back!

Jack La Tulip

And boy how it stunk to have to work today,
and not be able to race Walts classic.
I hope all was good there!
Hope my pals fared well!

P.S. The old track still exist, fully intack
in the basement in Fulton. May need some grooming!

Jack.... man your still alive and well !!!! I'm happy to know that all is well in "God's country".

None of what was typed, was meant to be a slam to Woodsy or yourself. Just thinking what I have done over the summer versus what I could have been doing. Like you said, this is one hobby that puts people of all ages on a level playing field. As far as the BS, well as long as you have different opinions and ideas... you'll have that. I'll be looking forward to seeing you at Dave's. There's a few things I think you may have been misled about, with having read some of your comments.

One things for sure, your racing with me, I'm always gonna try to get the mental advantage...lol.

Now, depending on the level of BS, depicts whether or not we'll attend. I sure do hope the crap stays to a minimum. I like running with most of the CNY guys, but there are a few that just tweak me just right... as any competitive person does.

All for fun gentlemen!
Just do not feel like being a greyhound any longer, and chasing rabbits.
I love R/C racing, and hangin out with all.
I just choose to not make it expensive any longer. It does hurt the hobby.
Well to all, I'm going home!!!!!!!
YEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

No Matt, I want nothing to do with the Business end of it any longer.

I give credit to the Walt's bunch, as I have supported them over the years, And been involved with it myself. You need to be bullet proof to survive!
Bitching! Complaining! Backstabbing!
And they survived!
They are proffesional, and dependable!
They have been great to me over the years.
In another year it will not be fesable to get there on a weekly basis, but I enjoy it for now!
Years of success to the Thorne family!

And to Bruce! How bout those J.E.T.S!!!
