Abandoned Carts?

We just recently notice that we are receiving an excessive amount of abandoned carts, these are shopping carts that are filled up and then never completed.


We have had 1400 total in 10 months of the new site. But 1000 of them are from July 2010.

Can anyone tell me if they are experiencing a glitch, snag, etc in shopping or shipping at our site which causes you to abandon the shopping carts?

We are interested in achieving great customer service and we feel there is maybe something wrong.
