Jim's RC, an outdoor, high banked asphalt oval located at 70 Chenango Bridge Road on Route 12A in Binghamton NY, is pleased to announce the start of the Wednesday Sizzlin' Summer Series. The Sizzlin' Summer Series will consist of a six week points series with one drop week allowed. The drop week can be either a racer's lowest points finish for the six weeks or a week where a racer could not attend. The series will start on Wednesday, July 21st and run through August 25th. Jim's RC will be open for practice starting at 10AM when the hobby shop opens. Racing will begin promptly at 6:30PM and the track will cllose for practice at 6:15PM for a brief drivers meeting each week to include a few special races in the works to be announced the first week. This Wednesday will also the announcement of incentives to run the series both weekly and for the points titles. The race format will be 2 qualifying heats to set the mains with bump-ups for the lower mains. A house AMB-RC transponder system will be used supporting both house and personal transponders. There is plenty of power availible so racers will only need to bring extension cords, table, chairs and pit lighting. The following classes will be run, but all that is needed is 3 cars to make an additional class.

*If using a programmable timing brushless speedcontrol (Tekin, Mamb, ect.) a 17.5 brushless motor is be used. A 19t brushed motor may be used with any speedcontrol.
STOCK Mini Latemodel
*Foam tires are allowed but the stock battery (either LOSI or ASSOCIATED 1100mah) and motor must be used with the stock speedcontrol. Durability upgrades are also allowed.
OPEN Mini Latemodel
*Car must be a Mini Latemodel chassis with any allowed upgrades for tires, durability, motor, speedcontrol and battery (2S LIPO MAX). Body MUST be run in stock configuration.
This week, July 21st will also feature the appearence of Ron Hills, who does a local racing recap show The Race Report in the Binghamton Area, filming some racing action for a spotlight segment to air at a later date. The Race Report can be seen on Thursdays on Fox 40 at 11PM and Saturdays on MY8 at 10:30AM in the Binghamton viewing area.
