Just going to throw this out there for everyone in the PA area how about the track owners, The Pa Tour and the IRS sit down together at one time and try to come up with a plan to:
1. Get more racers out to weekly events ( maybe a track type series among all tracks)
2. Get new people involved ( we have a ton of local short tracks in our area most would be more then happy to let us set up a display at an event)
3. Beginner ,sportsman novice class whatever you want to call it all with the same rules at every track.
4. Classes figure out what classes need to be run that will give full fields in the classes set. and not have 8 classes with 4 cars in each.
5 Discuss ideas how to keep our racing programs moving along to get racers in and out in a timely and enjoyable manner with out making them feel rushed. come up with an event outline and follow it at all tracks so no matter what track you run you know whats going on and what to expect.
6 come up with a regional schedule outlining the events for the season.
Its a lot of work but nothing worth having is ever easy. and a lot of compromise will have to come in to play as everyone has different ideas.
We need to unite and become strong and get our racers back to the tracks now before its too late. So lets meet!!!:checkeredflag: Laudan Seigfried

I have sent out pms to tracks . I have talked to Brock and Jeff from the PA tour and we agree that we need to get things all on one page here in our area so we can keeep moving forward with successful tracks and racing.

Here is what we run at D&J raceway in Orrville Ohio, there is always 12 to 15 trucks that race and this is the class that most new racers start at. The class is 13.5 stadium truck, "T4, XXXT" Rubber tires, I think it is hard to get new racers to stay in the sport because of the cost of foam tires and tire compounds. A pair of proline M3 HoleShots rubber tires will last a whole season and it is cheap for someone to get started. I know your track owners won't like the rubber tires, but, i think it will help get people started. Therefore, it is easier for someone that runs off road to come run dirt oval. Just a thought! hope it helps!

I really like your thought train here. Weekly racing at many tracks is really struggling. And heaven knows if PA loses the weekly tracks then there's no place for the Bigger events to run at. So weekly tracks have to survive. Promotion and advertising goes a LONG way these days for new blood. We are currently working with some good sponsors in the gas industry up here in northern PA and souther NY. They are great source of new racers (Well drillers, etc lookin' for some fun and have LOTS of cash to spend) And their companies are well funded so donations, sponsorships, etc are happening already and they love to support hobbies that surround kids and family!!! Nomac, Chesapeake are just a few that are already fully sponsoring kids rides so they can race for FREE!
You can only spread of current crowd and weekly racers so thin... I think that if you can do some special events in front of full scale crowds, organize some entry level classes for novice racers, and tap some of the new driver potential in the area you'll see some good growth down the road. I know we sure are up here in NY.
#1 suggestion... KEEP FUN the first and foremost priority. Many older racers that I have that now are coming back out and testing the waters left DO because of the BS and nonsense that often plagues the more serious racing crowd. YOU MUST KEEP drivers in line and keep things FUN. My humble .02. Good Luck and hope to see your efforts rewarded!!!!!!

I wish there was a loose dirt "pin" tire track in PA near me.(or anywhere for that matter) I'd love to travel to race on loose dirt... And yes. Crossover classes are a great way to add drivers to the weekly car counts... PA is mainly foam tire tracks though so crossover classes are a bit harder to find.
