Mr. Dirt RC Series
July 12th, 2010, 11:28 AM
The Mr. Dirt RC Series will head up to Scriba NY for race #4 at Wizard's RC Raceway on Saturday, July 24th. Wizard's Raceway is a flat, high traction clay oval with a runline of approximately 190ft, and has provided some very good racing in the 3 seasons it has been opened.

There is plenty of room for parking, plenty of pit space (bring tables), and plenty of power on site (bring cords). Terry's wife Julie will be grilling food (probably Hotdogs, Burgers, fries, Mozz. Sticks, in addition to chips and drinks) and theres plenty of space for those who want to camp out too. Additionally, Oswego Speedway is about 8 minutes South, and Fulton Speedway is about 20 min away.

Also, there will be club racing Friday Night, July 23rd. Racing usually starts at 7:30.

The track will open at 9am on Saturday the 24th, with time trials starting at Noon. 2 rounds of Ifmar style qualifying will follow time trials, and features with bump ups will round out the day. All A Mains will be 75 laps. Classes are as follows:

Big Block EDM
Small Block EDM
Sprints
Latemodels
Trucks

Series information can be seen at www.mrdirtrcseries.com (http://www.mrdirtrcseries.com/)

Entry fee is $12 for first class, $8 for 2nd class

Tracks location is:

757 County Route 29
Scriba NY 13126

See everyone on the 24th!

Due to extreme traffic from Harborfest this weekend, are some directions to navigate through the city and avoid Rt 104 (Bridge Street) for most of Oswego:

Coming from the West:

Take Rt 104 to Hillside Ave. Take Right on Hillside Ave and travel approximately 1/4 Mile to intersection of Hillside and West Utica St. At the intersection, turn left onto West Utica. Take West Utica to cross over Rt 481 (will turn into East Utica St). Continue down Utica St to East 13th St. Turn left on East 13th and arrive on Rt 104. Turn Right on Rt 104 and continue to County Rt 29 (approximately 6-8 miles). Turn Left onto County Rt 29 and travel approximately 1/2 Mile. Track is located on left hand side on corner of Middle Rd and County Rt 29.

From The South:

Take Rt 481 to East Utica St. Turn Right on East Utica St, and travel to East 13th St. Turn Left on East 13th St and travel to Rt 104. Turn Right on 104 and continue to County Rt 29. Turn Left onto County Rt 29 and travel approximately 1/2 Mile. Track is located on left hand side on corner of Middle Rd and County Rt 29.

This should help the majority of you miss most of the Harbor Fest traffic. If you are coming from the north, there isnt much to worry about. Any questions, please PM me.

BOTH the Bridge street & Utica street Bridge will be closed Saturday night from 9:30pm until midnight. The Oswego Speedway is not racing this weekend.

One of the best fireworks shows I've ever seen takes place saturday night @ 9:30 in Oswego. The best spot to see is around Brietbeck park and wrights landing. Plan on doing a little walking. You won't get closer than 5 city blocks to the park.

What motor does the latemodel class run. I'll be running a 17.5.

How much perclass?? I'm thinking about running two classes...

yes, these Fireworks are awesome!! No Doubt you'll have a little walk to get a good view.
I can give more details if anyone is interested.

I'm not positive, but I thought LM was DODC based, kinda the same as we ran in the dungeon over the winter. but a 17.5 novak based motor is acceptable with me. :revs:
