Hello racers! Many of you know Tom Appelt - all around good guy - usually with me in the ZZ mains at most events :D. Its come to my attention that Tom has run into some family health problems that are pretty serious. His wife Molly and kids have tested positive for Lymes disease and it is really taking its toll on Molly. The kids are doing better, but the medical bills are piling up to a level that has Tom in a spot. He needs some help and has decided he has to sell off his racing stuff for the time being.
So Allen has graciously allowed us to use the race this weekend and his location to set up a table with Tom's stuff for a silent auction. We'll lay each item out with a paper and a minimum starting bid. If you're interested you write down your bid on the next line. If someone else is willing to bid more they will add to the last bid and write in their amount. We'll set a time for the final bids and then everyone with the winning bids will be able to come up and pay for their item.
As I said before many know Tom, but a lot may not since he's been battling this health issue for about a year now, he's not been able to show up at the track. I'm here to tell you he takes care of his stuff and its all in top shape. We're looking for everyone to dig deep and give to someone in our racing family that has truly hit on hard times with medical bills. Tom is one that is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and now he needs a hand up himself.
I don't have a full inventory yet, but I know that he has an Outlaw that has only a few races on it, a Putnam motor, a trinity car hauler bag that is still in the plastic, charger, radio, all the typical stuff you'd expect a racer to have. He also has a Harper that I think will make the trip to Allen's as well. He also has a set of two tickets to Indy up on the Penthouse level for the NASCAR race in August. Face value $300 - so these are nice tickets. they were a gift given to him before the medical problems really hit hard, but he says that they gotta go too.
He's Maddog on DO so give him a shout. He'll appreciate hearing from some folks that he hasn't been able to see for a year or so. Keep his family in your prayers and come over to my spot and check out the stuff sometime tomorrow.
I know Tom will appreciate everyone's support. He can't make it himself as he needs to be home providing care for his family.
See everyone tomorrow! :trophy:
