View Full Version : $$$ Race Smack Talk and Predictions

Who do you think will win? What driver? What Car? What tires? What Motor?

I talked to Eugene.... and he storngly believes that this is the year that Hyperdrive dominates..... Last Year, Custom Works Swept the three 10th scale classes.

Last year, The BackLash dominated 8th scale.... but what chassis will win this year? With the limited class being added.... what platform has what it takes to win that class?

I know alot of guys have not signed up yet, so its hard to gague who will be the favorites in each class.

Who do you think will take home the prestige of being the Hyperdrive/Big Bills $$$ Race Champion?

Let me say this.....if tonight is any indication of whats to come......Hyperdrive took down the old record once held by a CW Outlaw by 2 LAPS! Mark Corns ran a 41, 4:05.67 tonight......Old record was 39, 4:03-4ish.....there were also 4 other Hyperdrive cars there tonight that went 39+ laps.....and one of them had about 20 laps on it.....(built at the track) Dustin Malicoat went 40, 4:02.....

Time will tell......the electric sprints outrun the Super Late Models tonight by over 2 laps.....

Just because our state economy brings in more $$$ than 10 states combined in the middle of the country, doies not mean we think we are or should be another country.

BUT....
New York may soon be known as East America, and Cali would be West America... the rest would be old America....

LOL... So onto a serious note!!!

So who is coming out to play!!!

Matt Murphy
July 12th, 2010, 5:41 PM

Except Bill's two classes are not competing against each other.

I really hoped that the URL guys would make an attempt to support Bill and Eugene's willingness to include their form of racing into one of the biggest 1/8 scale races of the year. That was pretty cool of them, given that their weekly program and all the other tracks in our area are more open rules.

For myself, it is a chance to do something different....no politics involved. I guess that makes me an independent as far as the morons go.

I hope this doesn't start a big debate.
I dont know 100%. But when the voting pole was done by Big E. I beleave the only people that truely voted was from around Big Bills area. I dont think there was many if any that voted from the URL area. I am glad to see that we as racers can come to terms to have fun. I know for a facted that Scott with the Chilli Bowl Jr will be having a Open Rubber Tire class for 1/8 LM'sand a URL Class this coming year. No debates...I think everyone has realized that it goes nowhere. It is interesting that most of the votes were from the IL area. I had not looked back at the thread to see, but had planned to, thank you for saving me the trouble. My fear is that a lot of the URL guys voted just to put a good showing in for the series, with no plans to come race.

Time will tell I guess, but I hope the class is well represented.

My not running 1/8 has nothing to do with Big Bill, open/spec classes or anything of the sort. Donnie,
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but the competition will be fierce at the Bill's race. :checkeredflag:

One thing I think you will see this year is a dozen or more guys that show up on top of their game and ready to battle. The Monee and CRC guys have all been running strong everywhere they go. Tennesse has this type of racing all summer long and are already tuned up. The locals at Bill's have been bumping track records and getting faster every week. Everyone has been looking at this race as THE race to run good at, kind of like the Open Wheel is to 1/10 foam tire racing.

It will be an epic battle with hard feelings and bragging rights to be had. :greenflag::whiteflag::checkeredflag:

A huge Thank You to Bill and Eugene for putting together the premier loose dirt event of the summer.

If there is room in the truck I will bring it for a fill in class but it really depends on the schedule as my nitro and electric sprints are my main focus. Lost the love for the 1/8 lm class quite some time ago and it showed at the Chili Bowl this year. Dont care for where the class is headed so this will probably be my last race with it.

I think a couple of Team GFRP 1/8 scales will suprise and dissapoint a few of the Hillbillies...

The Nitro Sprint A main WILL be won on the top of the track! Bottom feeders will be full on the last few spots in the A.

The Electric Sprint class will be a bloodbath with all the Red in it.;)

I would like to go on record by stating that I was correct on all 3 of predictions!!!

2 GFRP 1/8 scales were in the A.
Nitro sprint A was tqed on the top as well as won on the top.
Electric sprint had 9 red cars in the A.

Well you got the 1/10 class right but as far as the 1/8 you where off on that one. The GFRP cars where no surprise. I knew they would run good. The dissapointment part you were wrong about also. They were only two hillbillies and they both make the A-mains. Phillip made the URL A-main with a stock Tamya(I bet no one else had one of those) and a Nova BF .21 3 port. Good job Phillip! I made the Open A-main with my C&M Backlash and had the car to beat Saturday. I wasn't to dissapointed with the third round A group lapping of the field and the .298 loss of the A-main with two wrecks. Joe ran a great race and stayed clean. Great race Joe!

Good try Dustin!:D

No doubt about it the best car won the Open 1/8 LM Main. You might have had 2 wrecks but Joe running the last 45 seconds or so with a diff going bad kinda evens that out IMO.

.298 or 22.298 it was a great race to watch - you all did great

I would also agree, he had a lap on the field before his pinion broke. But hell don't we all think we had the car to beat.

Jimmy B had the car to beat before the rains came and made the track 10-20 longer....

Once they post the results the lap times should solve who had the fastest car... Congrats to Big Show Joe with a great run... and "Ott" for a great effort with his second place finish.
