This Friday the track will be open at 4:00, and the racing will start at 7:30. Hopefully this is plenty of time for those traveling from a good distance to get here on time. If you think you'll be later than 7 or so, please let me know and we can get you in the computer ahead of time. I'll need the class and transponder number(s).

The plan is to try and do 3 rounds of heats. We will see how it goes and how many entries we get and see what everyone thinks when we get to that point.

This weekend, May 21st & 22nd will be the first of two Central Illinois North/South Challenge weekends.

North/South Challenge

How this will work is both Friday Night and Saturday night will count towards the North/South Challenge. You can race both, or just one night and still participate. Drivers will be assigned to either the Northern team or the Southern team based on where you live. The dividing line is going to be Route 16 which spans from Hardin, IL to Paris, IL. Obviously if you live north of this line you will be on the Northern team, South of this Line you'll be on the Southern team. If you live in a town on this Route (Example: Jerseyville, Gillespie, Litchfield, etc) you will go to the South team. Anyone that lives within 30 miles of St. Louis on the Missouri side will also count for the South team.

Drivers will score points based on where they finish overall in their class. (Example: If 15 drivers are in your class and you win, you get 15 points plus 1 bonus point for the win). A bonus point will be given for a win, no points for TQ. 1 point increments per position.

Your points will count towards your team. However, the same amount of drivers will count for each team. For example: In the Electric Sprint class, if there are 12 drivers from the South and only 8 from the North then only the top 8 highest finishing drivers form the South will score points. The incentive for the other 4 drivers will be to finish as high they can to make the other team score the least amount of points (beat drivers form the other team, and they score less points). If a class only has drivers from one team, then the bonus point for the win will be the only points scored for that class.

The points will be totaled from both nights to determine the winning team.

Classes

Only the following four classes will count towards the North/South Challenge. It will be up to the host track if local classes will race at all or not.

- MOD Electric Sprint
- 13.5 Late Model
- Nitro Sprint
- Nitro Truck/EDM

This weekend will use the West Central Illinois Series rules found here: http://www.allensrccars.com/wcis/wcis_rules.htm (http://www.allensrccars.com/wcis/wcis_rules.htm)
