View Full Version : Round #4 Joplin RC Speedway **DODC National Points Race**

Round #4 of the URL series will be at Joplin R/C Speedway June 26. This is a DODC National Points Event. The gates will be open at noon, hot laps at 4:00 p.m. and racing at 5:00 p.m.

Terry said that you will be allowed to practice on the track at noon, but it will not be worked to racing condition. He will close the track around 2:30 to start getting it ready for the race.

I can't belive ya'll are going to give up a chance to get a Harper Electric Sprint. and run on one of the BEST dirt oval track in the series..

For what it will cost to go to joplin and run that race I could almost buy one. Just don't see the support for this series to make me spend that kind of money.

so it's nothing to do with the track is it?? Dont we travel and go to these tracks to have fun??

I know I do!!!! And it's ALWAYS worth the travel to make a trip to Joplin!!!

I cant make this one but will try and make the next one. I hurt my back and have misswd alot of work so money is tight for me. Plus I dont think I could make the drive up there with my back still being hurt. Good luck to all that will be making this show.

As far as the Harper electric sprint car goes. We have yet to see the car and Jeff hasn't made a race yet that I know of. What kind of assurance can we get to motivate us to make every race? It cost alot of money to travel to all the races and I know that there would be alot of people upset if that deal fell through. Just my thoughts.
You guys have fun and wish I had someone to car pool with to make the race at Joplin.
Since no one from the Dallas area is going then that leaves me no choice.

Just alittle FYI on the Harper car. Last yr the car didnt get built until 1 week pryor to the end of the season. And Harper didnt make some of the races that yr either. So I wouldnt go by the facted that Harper isnt racing on whether the car will get built.

All I can say is. The Texas crew has not ever ran on this track. They ran on Ascotts track. And this track is so much better then what Ascotts track was. And Ascott was one heck of a track. So they have know idea how much fun they are missing.

Sorry for Babling, but had to throw out my 2 cents on it.

Plus Mr. Harper was down at Adam's Creek about a month back. Raced with him all night. I meant to get a set of wheel dots from him but I forgot when I began having car trouble.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I found someone from Texas going to Joplin! We are loaded up and gonna make the trip to race with y'all. We didn't have a lot of room for chairs or me a table. If someone has an extra one I would really appreciate it if they could bring one.

Big thanks to you and your dad, Brian for the vids! Big thanks as always to Terry and crew for a great track to race on. Big thanks to Gary Offutt and Steve Wiley for the ride to the track and help with refueling. Another big thanks to Doug Gaut for help with my set up!! See everyone in July!
