Though Race #5 at BRC is more than a month away I think it would be a good idea to get some info out for you guy's. The Track is 240' run line with wide lanes and a large pit lane and easy pit entrance. There is slight banking around the whole track. The track WILL be sealed for the big race.Without a doubt BRC will be the fastest track of the series.(matt may try to argue that). We will be working with Matt to Iron out the daily schedules but the plan is to hold a praitice on friday and have the Race on Saturday, with the mains finishing up under the Lights. Here is a list of info.
240' Run line slightly banked Sealed track
Pit Lane YES
Track Lighting YES we are renting 2 light towers
2 Clean Porta Pottys with a wash station
Large pit area, plenty or room for campers and trailers
AC power(limited)will be supplied near the track.
Please bring your own Sun shade and pit table.
We Will provide awards for race #5 top finisher
Please post up any Question or concerns Thanks

I wont argue with Phil about BRC being a fast track, but I will argue that there is no way it is 240 feet!!! Racers Haven is 230 and BRC has 20 foot longer straights at a minimum...LOL. And the infield is 5-10 feet wider. I measured the run line at haven the night before race #3.....
But it will be fun!

Matt, 240 feet. Frank didn't believe it either until he walked it off with his rolling tape measure. It looks deceiving with the wide lane, not those narrow little lanes like at Haven ;). We will also be using a state of the art Sealer. It will look much different than Haven or CVR.We have a lot of work to do before the big race, but it will be worth it. Billy and the guy's at Speedworld raised the bar pretty high:thumbsup:. Now the pressure is on us BRC guy's to put on a good show and we plan on doing just that.:trophy::trophy::beer::beer:.

What tires are going to work?
EZimmermam, I won't know for sure until after we seal the track, but i would say Pinks and maybe purples.Silvers might be a little soft for the high speeds we will be running.Maybe not? And of course DLM2's only for 8th scales. I will post up as soon as we test the sealed track ASAP.

Now that the race is getting a little closer here is some more infomation.
Pratice- Friday July 23rd gates open at noon- Drivers  Social later in the evening. (make sure you guy's sign up to bring something if you are going to attend)
Race Day- July 24th gates will open around 7 am I am hoping we can run 3 rounds and then the mains (depending on the weather forecast & turnout) I think there will only be 7 different classes, unless we can get 8 or more of a different class show up.
BOTW prices $25 first class, $15 each other class.
Check out the website and flyer (sorry track pics are about a year old)

"" I think there will only be 7 different classes,""
true but when you break them into heats it ends up being 12-17 heats in a round... i thought matt was just going to run 2 heats and a main from now on it seemed to be smoother. i dont care much either way, but the long day does drag some down a bit.

It will all depend on # of entries. 90 or more, we will run 2 rounds. Less than 90, 3 rounds. I want Series awards to be handed out with light out still....

2 rounds are fine also, I just want everybody to get there moneys worth, but don't want the day to drag on either. I am really hoping for over 100 entries, A large number of BRC racers have attended every race in the series and have supported every track including myself. I really hope you guy's support us and come out to race #5. Lets close out the series with a huge race and party.:thumbsup: Thanks

Thanks to the VERY hard work of Rolland, Rex, and Tim, the track was sealed this Saturday. these guy's worked there butts off on the 90+ degree heat. Can't say enough, Rex and Rolland kicked ass 2 weekends in a row.. Thanks Again.
I went to the track this morning and got some laps in with my LM. Fast and Sticky. My speedworld setup worked almost perfect with worn rubber tires. Put on some foams and car got a little tight. The track is not as smooth as Speedworld but should be just as much fun. The nice thing is that it still looks like dirt. Not Black top ;).
I would say non groved purples and pinks will be best for foams.
We have a club race next weekend and I will allow foams for Eight scales. Come on out and try it out before the Big one.

BRC does NOT have a Hobby Shop on site so if you hobby shop owners like Doug from KiT & Cabottle Billy from Speedworld, Bruce from RC Country or anybody else want to bring down parts to sell like tires, fuel, ECT.. I would definitely not have a problem with it, in fact it would help out a lot.
Please post up if this is something you guys can do. Billy did those truck foams ever come in?

I have just secured and great caterer for BOTW. Black Tie Catering will be on site at 7am making breakfast burritos and other good hangover food. He will be onsite allday cooking to order all quality food. Will also have cold drinks available for sale. He promised Great food at reasonable prices. So do your self a favor and leave your cold turkey sandwitch at home and support our local vendor. One less thing to worry about packing.

Looks like the race list is getting longer by the hour . Time to talk about pit set ups. We are going to have 2 row of pits behind the drivers stand area.(no cars parked behind pits) Campers and trailers will park near turn 1-2 . I would like to ask you guy's with trailers to unhook from your vehicle to make more room. There will be plenty or room behind the back streach and turn 3-4 for more pits and parking but I am sure most of you would like to be as close to the drivers stand as possible. So lets cozy up a little so nobody has to walk to far to race. I would like to leave a good amont of room near the roll up door area for the BBQ's and Drivers Social.
There are no bleachers or benches for spectators so please bring plenty of chairs. Extra tables for the BBQ would also help. DON'T Forget your Sunscreen and Sunshade.
Black Tie Events will be there Saturday at 7am cookng pancakes and breakfast burittos and have hot coffee for sale. And will be there all day with real good food and cold drinks.
If you guy's have any questions, now is the time to ask;)

Sherman, We have a large generator powering the track. It should be enough to power all the racers chargers and such, but compessors have a large amp draw and may be pushing it a bit. So I will ask guy's with personal genators to bring them to power there compessors , lathes and of course RV's. Don't want to take any chances.
