First let me say that I’m new to dirt oval racing but I am experienced in racing 1/8 scale buggies. Awhile back, I bought an OFNA DM-1 Spec right before the On-Road racing scene imploded last year in Georgia so I never had a chance to run that car. Recently, we’ve had a dirt oval track nearby open up so I’ve converted my DM-1 to a Dirt Late Model. However, I'm a bit unsure of what kind of a setup to use. I was told on RC Tech that apparently there are a number of folks running DM-1’s in Florida on ovals? Is this true? Those are the folks I hope to hear from. Anyways, I’m just asking for help on figure out a good base setup to start from. I did hear that most folks are using grease in the rear diff. My question to that is, how much grease do you put in? If anyone is also running an Ultra GTP that can share setup info- that would be great since the GTP and DM-1 are similar. Also, how do ya’ll keep the engine temps down when the body covers so much of the engine head? Thanks for any advice!

Thats cool, your going to enjoy Dirt Oval Racing. I personally run the DM1 Spec car as a Dirt Oval Car. I run the stock set-up, with the frt blades hooked up and the rear not hooked up. Up frt, I run a 1 degree negative camber, 1 degree toe out. On the rear I run 1-2 degree negative camber (depending on track and tire wear), and 1 degree toe in. the shocks, I run 60 wt all round, with the stock red springs. I run 100000 diff up frt and run diff grease in the rear. On the diff cases, you want to fill them about 80-85%, no more.

Thank you so much for the reply. Are you running yours with the two speed in it? Our rules say we have to run a one-way so I use a center diff from my Jammin Buggy. In order to make the center diff mimick a one-way, I was going to use OFNA's diff locker grease to effectively make it a one-way. Any comments or suggestions on that are appreciated. I'll keep your mother in law, and family in my prayers.
Thanks again
Brian
