The race at Racers Haven May 29th, is the Second Annual, Dirt Oval Showdown, presented by MurfDogg Motor Works.Following the tradition started last year, we will have an Unlimited Class. This class is an exhibition class, with no rules, anything you can come up with is legal! It is a race against the clock. Last year Allan Webster used a Custom Works wedge bodied car to set the All time lap record at racers haven with a 4.37 second lap around the 230ft high bite banked oval track. He edged out Nic Case, the worlds fastest RC Racer by 4 hundredths of a second. Nic Case has the land speed record for RC Cars at 160mph. Allans car averaged 36.21 MPH on his record setting lap.

Who will challenge Allan Webster and his 4.37 second record this year? Entries will be limited to 8 and this is a free to enter exhibition class.

Last year, Nic Case ran a Special speed run built touring car on 3 cell lipo.... Jason Smith ran a Mugen 1/8th scale on-road car.... silly fast!!!

What kind of creation can you build?

No chassis rules, no body rules, no tire rules. Only rule is there is no rules!

Fastest single lap is all that matters.... each driver will receive three, 1 minute timed sessions to lay down the best lap they can!

Bring out the Crazy concoctions of parts and see how fast you can go!

Last year, my Custom Works wedge bodied concoction hit the berm coming off of turn 2 and flew thru the air, all the way into the turn 3 fence!!!

Well, I meant that as opposed to some 4 cell lipo 9000kv, stuffed in a touring car chassis. by simple I meant, good motor, good battery, and enough downforce to drive it upside down!

The same pit tables are there, with A/C Power. You will have to unload and park a bit away from the track. There is some room near the track to pit out of the back of your vehicle, but with the trailers it becomes limited. MANY of the Local guys pit in the parking lot..... for some reason.....

I was getting the power down,..... problem came when you had to turn around and go the other direction!!! :confused: LOL. I am pretty sure my 17.5 latemodel was faster than that car was. Changed a few things today though and hopefully it will try and turn now.

I ran a little shakedown today with my car with a putnam 3.5 in it and a 2 cell. it was pretty quick, but certainly not 3 or 4 cell quick. Do you guys think a bigger battery is the way to go? I'm torn on the idea, plus I don't have a 3 cell so I'd be wiring up a couple 2 cells in series which seems like a lot of added weight.... do you think the trade off is worth it?

I am guessing your 3.5 on 2 cell is close to what my 3 cell is since I only have a 10.5 in mine. Not sure what Kevin had in his on 4 cell but that sounds crazy. I didn't see his go though.

The track was pretty abrasive on Friday night, so putting the power down was no problem at all. I too had some corner speed issues, but straight line speed was pretty good. I had a 10.5 in my car Friday night with a 4C pack, but I now have a 3.5 installed in it and still plan on running the 4C:eek: Can you say "Clean up in turn 4!!!!"?:redyellow::redyellow::redyellow::redyellow::redy ellow:

the more I think about it I think I'm gonna stick with the 2 cell and live in the corners. Gonna really tweak out on aero package. (remeber 8 square feet of lexan is under 25 bucks at Tap!)

Good idea on the corner speed thing. my 17.5 latemodel went a 5.0 laptime becuase of all the corner speed it carries. If I could get my insane car to get through the corners like that thing does should be able to get down to some low 4's. Should be fun to watch all the different types of cars and bodywork everyone comes up with.

I do not have pics yet, as I have not built my body yet....

My car is a CW Intimidator SE, with flex chassis. I will be running on 2 cell Lipo power, with a MurfDogg 4.0 Turn Brushless motor. I will have Custom Works V3 Compound tires on it. I expect about 4.5 second laps out of it. Not sure I will have anything for the 4.37 second record. If I had a 3 cell lipo, I would try that also, but I believe 4-cell is overkill, unless you use a higher wind motor...... Does not mean I will not try 4-cell! This is unlimited, and I will not put any limits on what I try!

Custom Works Intimidator GBX with Bullet Wedge body and a considerable slab of lexan hanging off the left side...Speed Passion 3.5 Comp motor powered through a Mamba Max Pro speed control fed by 2 2s LRP 5300 batteries wired together to make 4s voltage. Leaning toward Purple or Magenta tires, but may try some other form of tire just for s***s and giggles. So far no pictures...can't find a camera fast enough to catch it on film:D Overkill? Probably, but I wouldn't have it any other way! If I can get the car to carry speed through the corners, the record is going down!!!:thumbsup: If not, then the fence is going down!!!!:thumbsdown:

i got that covered a lead wheel with rubber coating mounted about 3/4 back from the front with dual .61 mounted on the top and 3 tails and some safety outer pylons. kind looks like a TC with wings and a twin hull boat mounted on it.... LMAO!

I realized this was a bad idea last week when I was dismantling a storm drain at the local highschool to fish my putnam out.

on that note, a storm drain opening is just under six inches tall, much shorter than an edm body I found out.....
