Thanks to the leg work of Jesse Hare, we have a new event at our track for this season. We are happy to host the Hartlaub's Auto Service and Sales 100 for Limited Late Models. The 100 Lap A-Main event will be sponsored by Hartlaub's Auto Service and Sales. The event is scheduled for June 12. It is a points race (as scheduled) and a cash payout. The normal two rounds of qualifiers and all mains up to and including the B-Main will be four minutes as usual. Six will qualify to the 100 Lap A-main and two will bump up from the B-Main. The pit stops/refueling will be live and occur in the race.
More details for the event will be posted on our website in the coming weeks. It should be a fun and interesting event. We appreciate Jesse's work and the Hartlaub's sponsorship.

this race should be a blast for sure. when i ran newville's 200 lap truck race it was a blast. this event might even draw 50 llm. 100 laps is a real challenge. you figure about half will try to do it on 1 pitstop, and the other half will need 2. the guy's who try it on 1 stop may run out of fuel or over heat in the second half. don't miss this one, it's going to be alot of fun.

Just throwing around an idea and a way to have more people in the fun. What about two 100 lap Mains? Top 8 from qualifiers automatically make the A-Main 100 lapper, next 6 make it to B-Main 100 lapper, two from a four-minute C-Main bump up. C-main and lower would be 4 minutes with bump ups. This way instead of 8 guys running a 100 laps, 16 will be able to do it. I'm pretty confident we can get 100 laps in with the 2' practice and fuel stops done in 12-15 minutes. We may decide to not run a class or two that night to make sure it doesn't get real late.

Scott, would you consider starting 10 cars in the A main 100 lapper?

Doubtful. 8 seems to be a good number for nitros and the size of our track to offer plenty of excitement but also quality racing.

Ok Scott, we used to run 10, I figured 10 might give a little more bang for the buck.. But I do understand the 8 car main. I have seen what 10 cars mains look like. Kept the hobby shop busy....

Does anyone see an advantage from the 2 racers who bump there way from the B since they already ran 100 laps?

March 30th, 2010, 5:55 PM
The 100 laps should be for the A-main only. Also 10 isnt a bad thing. Its not a short distance sprint.

I like the idea of the 10 car main but only run one 100 lap main being the A-Main because all the B-Main cars will do is wear more equipment out.

a main is the only 100 lap working on scott to have 10 cars start

April 4th, 2010, 1:06 AM
10 cars in the a-main isn't a bad idea. either everybody calms down and realizes this race is not going to be won in the first turn or even first fuel stop. or everybody drivers agressive and you only have half the cars even making it to there first fuel stop. the great part about this race is the stratagy you you can use to win. remember if your pit guy drops your car or there fuel bottle ect., you lose 1 lap every 5 seconds. another thing that was big at newville was getting in and off pit road without getting stuck be hind another car pitting. most definatly want to be the only car on pit road, to get that fast stop. for the pit crews safety what will be the pitroad speedlimit. LOL.

i think that 100 lap b is a good idea qualify 8 for the a, 6 for the b and bump 2 from the c, with no bump ups too the a.
StaubBrothers
April 11th, 2010, 3:57 PM
Since this is the first try at a 100 lap Main, we will go with the majority here and qualify 8 and bump up 2 from the 4' B-Main to give us a 10 car field for the 100 lap A-Main.
We are thinking about having another 100 lap race later in the year--August or September where the top 3 or 5 in points automatically qualify with the remainder qualifying the traditional way. Maybe we could find a sponsor that would be willing to donate a LM kit that would be chanced off to any one of the 10 drivers in the 100 lap Main. Just some ideas to digest.
We appreciate the feedback everyone has given us so far.

If time permits this Saturday, I would like to try a mini race of 80 or so laps to see how the lap counter is going to work along with the actual pit stop procedures. Hopefully a few Limited Late Model guys are willing to stick around after the races this weekend to do a trial run. I figure it will be a good way to practice your strategies and how best to pit and when.

I want to publicly thank Hartlaub's Auto Service and Sales along with Jesse Hare and his family. There are many other prizes including the $250 purse: a Staub Brothers' $25 gift certificate (awarded to an A-Main Qualifier), All Limited Late Models are eligible for...3- $10 Lucky Dogs, 5-Free oil changes, 5-T-shirts, and free pens.
This is all on top of the good time and exciting racing that I'm sure we will all have. See everyone at the track!
Correction on Start: 4:00 instead of 4:30. As long as we can get pre-race tech done quickly.
