It was recently brought to my attention about ESC part numbers on the WCIDOS rules. Under Spec Late Model 4.0.1 and Spec Sprint 4.5.1 ESC rules it reads...

Novak GTB (#1710, 1711), Hovac (#1732, #1735), Super Sport/Plus (3205, #1705) or LRP Sphere Competition (80700, #80710) speed controls only.

The mistake is in the LRP Competition part numbers. It should read (#80500 #80700)

We made the mistake of putting in the wrong part #80710. This is a SPX not a Sphere. It has a definite advantage over any of the other ESC's listed and was never intended to be allowed in the series. We only wanted to give an option outside of Novak ESC's but still keep them on the same playing field speed wise.

The correction will be made to the rules to read (#80500, #80700).

All this being said I can only say im very sorry for the mistake. I know a few guys have gotten the SPX's due to this error and will be upset. I just wish this would of been brought to our attention earlier. Its my fault as much as anyone for not catching this. Thankfully it was caught before the season started.

Again very sorry for this and hope racers will understand it was an honest mistake. Any questions or just to vent at me gimme a buzz or pm me........ Steve (mouse) 618- 779-5208)

WHAT,, you have got to be kidding me. I had a tekin just for the class, found out it was illegal , sold it and got a spx on Monday, that has been in the rules, and now find it is illegal.

teamassociated.com has a listing of all the LRP products and the 80500 was the original Sphere and the 80700 is the Sphere Competition.

Those were the 1st 2 LRP brushless-brushed speed controls.

this link should get you to teamassociated.com, under lrp products. click on the first link under speed control manual and it should that the original SC was 80500.

Wanna work out a trade deal, my spx due to be here in 2days, for a gtb +? or somethin?...Considering the GTB is really all they want in the class anyway?

Sean, you can't run an spx in YOUR latemodel either. The spx is the #80710, which WAS legal, & now is NOT. You can call me though, I'll be glad to talk with ya. Hey Kelm, how bout them GTB's?
