Finally got a chance yesterday to try the T2C/SC10 gear diff in my CW Outlaw. Wow, do I like the way it turns. I broke 40 laps (41-5:02) for the first time at my local track in Rescue CA. Following Shawn's advice I lapped the planetary and sun gears and put it together with light high quality oil on the gears. Very smooth. My Rocket gets one before next weekends race.

gear diff is the way to go

at 1st mine was a lil "thick" feeling cause i built it according to the inrtructions and with grease, then i rebuilt it with WD40 and got rid of the thin shims and lil O rings on the outdrive and now it is super smooth with just a minor amount of play wich is perfect in my opinion.

i was quicker than i ever been at the track this past weekend and am thinking this T2C gear tranny is here to stay in my car!

I couldn't agree more. I ran mine for the 1st time this past weekend at bumps and jumps. TQ / Win first time out!
I left the o rings in, but didnt like how tight the diff was with the shims so I removed them. After 1 hr of run in time, the diff felt great. The only thing I would like to see for it, is some kind of plug for the hole at the top shaft on the left side of the case!

Where are the gear lapping instructions? I searched through all the T2C threads and could not find. Thanks

Just an FYI for everyone. Another method for the SC10 gear diff that I use was putting MIP(orange) CVD lube in place of the black grease points & used Marvel Mystery Oil on the gears themselves. Not sure how this compares to other methods, but it seems to be working very well for me. Diff is very smooth & rips through the corners.

I have driven the diff in my Putnam Apex EDM @ both Bumps n Jumps & Cooper's R/C & was very pleased  The T2C case is very well manufactured & I, like Curt ,have not shimmed the diff side to side. It seems to spin more freely w/out them, but with minimal play. I also used ORC's lightened topshaft & idler gear  Hope this helps !

GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith S.

black electric tape, cheap and simple. I could make a plug that coould fall out and cost you 2.99 each time LOL. But since the cases are solid surface tape is the perfect fit.

Jeff Cisney make some donut to cover it. right jeff bay.
