3/13/10 Outlaw Dirt Oval series

Attention racers, the 2nd ODOS race will be held at SS RACEWAY on march 13, 2010

Per our host, ronnie setser, gates will open at approximately 11am

ODOS racing will commence at 4pm. There will be prior practice time and then a drivers meeting scheduled for 3:30pm

fee for entry registration will be $20 per car.

THE 1/10 4WD EDM CLASS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ENTRY, HOWEVER IF FEWER THAN THREE ARE PRE-REGISTERED OR BECOME REGISTERED FOR THE CLASS ON RACE DAY, THE CLASS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE SERIES.

A NEW CLASS OF 1/8 SCALE EASTERN DIRT MODIFIED(EDM) WILL BE CREATED AND OPEN FOR PRE-REGISTRATION.

AFTER SPEAKING WITH RONNIE SETSER AND OTHERS AND CHECKING LAPS TURNED IN THE FIRST fdos RACE AT SS RACEWAY IN 4 MINUTES, THE DECISION HAS BEEN MADE TO HAVE 1/10 4WD LATE MODEL RACES BE 50 LAPS IN DURATION.

ALL OTHER CLASSES WILL HAVE 45 LAP RACES.

PERSONAL TRANSPONDERS ARE VERY MUCH ENCOURAGED FOR THIS RACE.

Racers, what a wild and woolly, but fun day it was at the SS Raceway, as we completed the second race of the Outlaw Dirt Oval Series.

We thank Ronnie Setser, Kim Setser and the staff of SS Raceway for hosting the series and providing the ultra high grip track surface we experienced. Ronnie did not let the rain of the previous day interfere with traction.

The organizers of the ODOS wish to thank all of the racers who participated in the event for your support.

We fielded 44 entries in the 5 classes we ran which was a good showing for that number of classes.

As advertised, we ran the 1/10 Lm races at 50 laps and all the other races at 45. Initially, there were a few problems in the 1/8 races with running out of fuel for a couple of drivers, however after a little leaning, everyone seemed to make the required laps with out problems.

We have now established the 1/8 Eastern Dirt Modified class as an official ODOS class and it was a true blast to compete in. I encourage others to build or purchase the EDM bodies and come join us in that class.

Unfortunately, no one signed up in the 1/10 EDM class and therefore that class is no longer a valid ODOS class.

I am happy to report that we were able to get the races started promptly at 4pm and Miss Karen did her usual excellent job of keeping the races moving in a timely manner. Thank you Karen.

Our 3rd race of the ODOS will be held on April 25, 2010, at the Lil' Dover R/C Raceway, at 6036 Black Dairy Rd. Sign up early and sign up in as many classes as you plan to run. Your support makes this possible.
