I want the first question!!! if you use a drop, are you still in the running for the Harper Sprint??

Everyone is going to use 1 drop. Your drop will be your lowest points awarded at a single event. If you skip an event to use that as your drop, then you will no longer be eligible for the Harper Car.

To be eligible for the Harper Car, it will be just like last year. You must show up for every race, enter and race a car in at least one of the 4 pro classes. In other words, you can't mail in an entry fee for every race and be eligible. If you show up for a race, pay your entry fee and then have to leave due to circumstances beyond your control, that might be the only exception to the rule.

Rain Dates are another possibility. If you show up for an event that gets rained out before it starts and then you can't make the re-scheduled race, then you will still be eligible for the Harper Car if that's the only race you miss.

Howard,
Is the URL going to use the old NSCS rules package or do you have something else in mind? The schedule looks great. Have to start making plans to make as many of the events as possible.

I need to get that posted too. I'm waiting on Rob to set us up our own thread for that. The rules for 2010 will be the same rules that we used at the CBJR.

Since mod sprint (elect) runs dodc rules, will the URL races count as dodc points races?

We did have DODC points last year under our old name, I still need to talk to Rob about that. Both of our sprint classes will be running by DODC rules this year.

I know the electric and nitro sprints and edm classes along with 8th scale run. Will there be any other classes?

Just out of curiosity, have any of you thought about allowing brushless systems running in the 8th scale classes? Or creating thier own class for this series?

Not trying to start a thread war or anything, just thought 8th scale might be easier with no nitro to buy.

No we don't inner mix our classes. Right now the only electric class we have is open sprint.

OK, what about stock slash with a 1/8 scale LM body? Cheap electric LM class and it seems like everyone has a slash (2wd or 4wd) nowadays.....

Sorry, but we won't be adding any classes. The problem is that 2 of the tracks that we race at have a midnight curfew. With the car count that we've had in the past, it takes about 9 hours to run one of these shows. If you back up 9 hours from midnight, that makes our start time at 3:00 in the afternoon which is the heat of the day. If you add a class to that, you can add another 2 hours or so to the program and that would move the start time to 1:00....which is even worse and with a large portion of the racers that will be driving in from out of state, it makes it harder for them to get to the track and have any practice time. So, one of the 4 current classes will have to die before we can add another one.

Thanks, for the info Howard. I was asking to see if there was going to be a 13.5 class. I know that Battleground, Adams Creek, and Joplin would have it at their races.

Our shows are usually ran in conjunction with the local track's regular race program, except for Wild Bills in Irving. Summer months Wild Bills regular race night is Friday night and then the Saturday race is for URL classes only. You'll need to check with each of those tracks you mentioned to find out for sure if they are going to run 13.5.

Everyone please notice that I added a note to the schedule. Our new series is going to be included in the DODC national points race. Our DODC event for 2010 will be our June 26th race at Joplin R/C Speedway.

I did want to ask why no Kansas race? There are a couple of tracks that would be able to host an event. Also many of the most loyal racers to this series have been from Kansas area.

Thanks

I don't really want to have a points event somewhere without having been there to race. I'm going to try to schedule a few exhibition races this year, one at the new indoor track in Diamond, MO, the new track in Malvern, AR and then one in Kansas City area. I'll get that info out as soon as I can.

I just thought it would be nice to have one of the cooler months right after the August heat. Wouldn't you agree?

I didn't pay any attention to that when I was typing it out. I had it wrote down on a piece of paper in the correct order and then when I talked to Joplin RC speedway, he needed the Sept date and I just switched him with Battle Ground and forgot to change the order when I typed it out. I'll fix it.

Well just looking at that each year it is frustrating for the guys from this area. I know that there have been some very loyal people to the racing that are from Kansas. Thats cool. Thanks for the reply.

I hear you and I agree. We've had very good support from the state of Kansas, especially the last couple of years. I'm going to try to work something out so we can have some races up there in the future. The problem I'm facing right now is trying to keep the series small enough that I can handle it. After all, right now the management of this series is a one man show. I don't want it to get so wide spread that it gets dilluted. Then you add the guys from Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota that have shown support for our series and it only makes sense that we hold some events further north. It is something that I've been giving some serious thought, I just haven't been able to figure it out from a management point of view.

Like I said I am not to worried about it. But just wanted to know why. But after 5 to 6 years with one race (Peabody) here it just makes people feel like the highways only run one direction....lol

Count me in. I requested vacation days to coincide with each event. That way I wont be scheduled to travel those weeks.

Second race at Wild Bills is same weekend as the Big Bills $$$ race. Sux to have to make those kind of decisions.
