Bill or I will be keeping everyone up to date right here.....
So far, what we do know is the track will be open sometime around the end of May as always.....
then August 20-22 will be the 4th Annual $$$ race.....since the first weekend is usually the 4 track series race and week 2 is the Knoxville Nationals.....so make plans to come.....224 entries last year with 72 mod sprints......
Questions? Ask away......
Plus Bill has had some interest and questions concerning 13.5 sprints......anyone wanting to run that class be sure to post here.....Bill said he would be happy to run it with the DODC rules.....6x6 wing, no front wing and off-road buggy tires.....let him know
Eugene Ryder

Classes Bill's usually run.....
electric sprint open
nitro sprint
13.5 DODC LM
1/8th scale LM
nitro EDM/truck
13.5 sprint.......maybe if enough interest

I would be interested in the 13.5 sprints, all dodc rules except the battery and motor. Lots of us already have a Novak 13.5, I don't want to spend the money to get one that has a different sticker on it and the same with the battery, 3200 SMC is OK, just don't need the sticker.
I'm looking forward to racing at Bills again.

yes it would be the same rules as 13.5 LM except for the tires.....not going to run the Street Tracs on the sprints.....only difference between 13.5 and open.....is motor and wings. The Aug $$ race will probably be another DODC points race so then you would need the DODC motors and batteries.

Im all for 13.5 sprint class. Cept we should run a 7x7 wing. In case there isnt enough at weekly races we can run mod then. So we dont have to buy 2 wings.

I think Eugene is saying 13.5 would be a foam tire class? So that means 6x6 per the rules.

Ha ha foams.....ya, wouldn't that be cool? No, it says buggy tires......and I think the 7x7 wing idea is better too.....I will get that clarified with Bill and get back to everyone.....we have a couple weeks before the season starts....LOL
And Jenzo.....I think he was thinking that the guys that bought an Outlaw already had a 6x6 wing anyway......right?

Ya they do. But 6x6 wings look funny with buggy tires. And most guys run them superfast hyperdrives that dont come with wings!

BTW if you need a wing ask I'll bend one up for ya.....Cheap.

I know this has been brought up before, but I would like to see DODC rules implemented for the Il. tracks. I've been in this hobby for approx. 29 years and have seen things come and go and others come full circle again. Granted I've just started racing after a few years away but the way the rules are now it make it hard for someone to reenter the sport. I'd like to run the 13.5 lm class. The cars I use to run were dd and now I find out that they are not legal for the Il. tracks of Bills, Allens, Maryville. If I were to go and purchase a dynotech car, would this be legal? I've talked with Rob Cutman from cw and according to him a gearbox won the 13.5 at the open wheel along with other classes. A gearbox won at Teas in the 17.5 class and other classes. And this is on high bite tracks where you can use hp. So I don't think this is an issue any more. To buy all new cars and spare parts and sink money into building a competative gearbox would be very expensive. Dodc rules would allow racers to reenter the sport more economically. Yes I've read about the speedcontrol issues and I could go either way. One way it seems people want the newer esc, or were planning on buying anyway. If they want to run elsewhere, they will need them. If you stipulate that they need the cheaper version, but still wish to race elsewhere, then it suddenly gets more expensive because they have to have two esc. My case it would be way expensive. Batteries are the other issue. If you run dodc rules, most people have the spec battery for the spec classes. Running a tire rule is o.k. This is stated as an option for track promotors in the dodc rules. The biggest expense is your chassis/body combination. Go by the DODC rules and its possible to gain more racers both new and from back in the day. I would like to race at your track but right now cannot. Right now the hobby needs all the racers it can get to rejuvinate dirt oval racing.

Yes, mod any motor, esc, tires and so on..... TEKINS ARE LEGAL...SCREW the 4 track rules!!!!!!!
Yes, this class will be ran weekly and will be in my Summer point series.
But not in the 4 track series.
(DODC Bodies only), any motor, any tires, any speed control, Direct drive or gear box.
A 4" tall x 10" long side air dam will be allowed. Air dam MUST remain clear, no paint, no stickers.
