Guys,
It's time to have a little time to add a little fun and festivity to this sport and special event. Since I posted the first question on the rules, its only fitting I post the first Smack for the event.
Thank you

Last year, Doug said if Dr. Phil wins he would have to break in his own motors.....
Well this year I did break in my own motor and Squeaks II is ready to make his appearance. The Dr. Phil LOSI special is strung al over my garage, driveway, office, and there are even parts in my wife's kitchen ready for reassembly.
Who else is brave enough to post in this thread. Where is that PINK TURD at? Haven't seen or smelled that thing around in a long time..

Who is going to win the CBJ ??????
plipitkc
November 20th, 2009, 3:50 PM
It is a little early for my prediction but I'm still laying my money on the mountain man, LARS JOHNSON. I know that is not very jayhawk of me but i like his style and aggressiveness. My back up choice has got to be DOUG GAUT, the Gunslinger from Wichita KS.
A tight third can be the Dr Phil car or HConcepts if he remembers what setup he ran last, LMAO, JK H.
There is an outside chance an ASSOCIATED product will be in the top ten this year also.
Gas Sprint will be a new comer this year, Right Coyote!
Electric Sprint will be a toss up between a HAVOC and a HARPER. You figure out who I'm talking about...Bang, Bang!!
Latemodel 13.5, Gotta go with Fast Eddie or the Road Runner, both are from KC.
Nitro EDM, Dillion Harden from KC is looking real good as a new face in the A Main, But he will have to get by the Harper truck for the win.
So there they you have it, Doc's predictions. Yes they are safe picks this year... So far.

OMG I hope he doesn'tread this! I still think old age and treachery will prevail so I think Nitro EDM will go like this- ME 1st, Dillon 2nd, Dr Pheeeeeel 3rd, Wiley Coyote 4th, Lars 5th.
Lars is an out side chance since it's possible he may be running one of my bodies. His off road factory supported stuff don't scare me! Not being able to get off to attend and back up my smack does , though- LOL- ROFLMAO!

Jim,
You mentioned old age and treachery, well Howard is right, we can't count him out. He does have the right stuff with that Ronnie Chapman chassis and Novarossi motor which sounded great at the NSCS final.
FLASH:::: I have revised my predictions for NITRO EDM --- 1st Steve Wiley; 2nd Howard Judd; and 3rd Dillon Harden with dad on his bumper pushing him across as a good supportive father should...
Watch out Dillon, these old fox's are onery and treacherous....

Where are all the proud SLOSI fans out there? This is the fun part of this race, then you have to back it up on the track... Unfortunately, I'm not going to be at this CBJ either, but I can still stir the pot...LOL!
Well, It looks like there won't be a PINK TURD at the CBJ this year and that is unfortunate, Ronnie will be missed, watching him wheel that OFNA was like poetry.
Who is next, JOEY, Will the Neon Taz make it this year and dethrone the Gun Slinger for the title? Good question because Joey did beat Doug at Joplin last year, both were driving the SLOSI chassis.
Next on my list, Lee Morrison, What can I say, Lee is one of the most helpful people I have met and my thanks go out to him for helping with my MUGEN in last years CBJ. The real question is will he remember last years A-Main and the pass the Gun Slinger put on him coming out of #4 corner for the lead and win....Paybacks can be B#$($.
And next on my list is one of the Elite RC Oval car builders I know, Jeff Harper. Over the 2009 season, Jeff and Doug also had a few scrapes and tumbles while racing for the lead at Tulsa and Joplin. Jeff won a few and Doug won a few. Not going to said who won the biggest cause they already know.
My last SLOSI person to talk about here is my good friend Doug Gaut, the Gun Slinger. He has helped me tremendously with my driving and car setups throughout 2009. Doug won many titles this year including the 2009 CBj, 2009 NSCS championship, almost undefeated at Joplin and Tulsa. In fact, he is a threat just about every time he sets a car on the track. He races to win and doesn't like second place, just like the rest of these guys and has had some really hard races with each and every one of the above drivers.
So pick one, cause every one of them will be in the A-Main of the CBJ if the luck holds and the oval god shines down on them come January in Tulsa OK.
Sorry, I forgot one of my favorite SLOSI drivers, Lars Johnson, the mountain man and one of the coolest dudes I know, always has a smile and plenty of time to answer questions and chit chat. When this man comes off the mountain to race, he leaves it all on the table and is still my choice to win the 2010 CBJ, if he can stay in front of the Gun Slinger
Oh by the way, I drive a SLOSI that is independently powered by Blue Thunder Fuel and Nova Rossi, partially sponsored by Goerge's Hobbies, Lawrence KS, and Stuck On You Graphics, Winchester KS.
Very last on my list is my good friends, the The KC Crew, Gary, Steve, and Eddie, I wish them the best of luck, running as many classes as these guys are, they need all the GOOD luck they can get
Dr. Phil. ;)

...Gad, you're like my kids..
Dr Phil's REVISED LIST of GREAT DRIVERS and 2010 PREDICTIONS:
Add Brian Hicks, Lloyd Smith, Allen Webster, Gary Keyes, and others to the list of possible winners of the 2010 CBJ.
Brian, are you driving a SLOSI or some other form of racing?
Thanks to Brian I am changing my predictions for the 2010 CBJ Latemodel class and it goes like this.
1. Our own Fast Eddie, Eddie Ingram who also wins pulling away in 13.5 LM
2. Our own Coyote, Steve Wiley who, by 1/2 car length, wins the Nitro EDM over Howard Judd, Lots of Oneryness and Treachery went on in that main cause Dillion Harden ended up over the wall after being caught between his dad and Howard on the back straight...That's a different story and a lot of hard love
3. Lars Johnson, Ran out of fuel leading the last lap by 2 seconds...What luck
4. Doug Gaut, Ran the wheels off his SLOSI, literally...He lost all 4 as he passed Lars on the back straight
5. Brian Hicks, Mister I had the wrong setup in for this race...still another story.
6. Lloyd Smith, Drove the guts out of his Caster car. Left an engine on the front straight going into 1 on the last lap.
7. Lee Morrison, Came along way to race, must have been suffering from mobile hypnotism or had a brain fart. I can't believe he let Eddie and Steve by that easy.
Gary Offutt would have won the A-Main but due to mass exhaustion from running 4 classes and winning 2 (electric sprint, nitro sprint) didn't make the call. He is alright and vows to take his place at the top next year.
This is just too much fun so after making everyone happy I'll set back and wait for replies.
Dr Phieeel :p with a lot of razzzberries to all

Mike, The good thing about all of us old washed up has beens is no one expects us to do anything, therefore we have the advantage of surprise, treachery, and being real Onery, at least according to Howard and Jim.
Me, I never underestimate anyone, I just like my picks and that's my story ... and I'm stickin' to it.
I will say this about TEXAS. Let's JAMA 'BAMA right outta the national championship!
Hook em' Horns!
Still no one has the balls to stand up and make the statement they will win the CBJ in their class.
If I was coming down to Tulsa in the middle of January...
I do plan to see everyone in the L8M and Nitro EDM classes at one or more of the URL races in 2010 with both barrels loaded for bear.

Looking over the results, 220+ racers, there had to be numerous racers that "made" the show interesting! Congrats to everyone that made the race a success!
Nathan Dean dominated both sprint classes, Doug Gout made three (3) "A" mains, both achievements are always a tough feat with so many quality racers, Arnie Fie was Arnie Fie, two A main's, but like I had predicted earlier in this prediction thread, with at least five total bump up's, two bump ups in Sprint to the "B", a third in the 1/8 LM main after a couple bump ups and being perfect in 13.5 LM - TQ, dash win, 3 heat wins for 0 qual points and a two(2) lap + win in the main, while racing oval with rubber tires only once a year, at this race, it would seem "Showtime" Matt Murphy was at his best in the Murfdogg Motorworks / Custom Works RC 1/10th Late Model and the Murfdogg Motorworks / Losi 8 Late Model and was the "Show".
