Guys, just my 2 cents ... experienced / more talented racers should step up from the limited classes. The limited classes are meant to give less experienced / less talented racers a place to learn it out and race it out with a chance to WIN. Experienced / talented racers like you guys will eventually kill the core purpose of the limited classes.

Think about it.

Steve.I'm pretty sure the limited class was made to keep racing cheaper. I think it has to some extent but I don't think it was ever made to be a learning class for guys to have a chance to WIN.

I 100% agree...just think about it....Rob has a list keeping people from these classes at the USOWC for a reason. That is proof right there that it is for newer people. Weekly it gets a great turn out, but I still believe that the newbies should be the bulk (if not all) of the entries in all of the limited classes! Once you have either won so many races, or reach a certain level, you should be asked to move up.

Just my thoughts! ;)

I liked when Steve runs the 13.5 class on the tour, he's a good measuring stick. It would be cool to see a Electric Mod LM class. I ran a 10.5 class at Coopers last spring and had a boat load of fun.

There is a ton of talent in open great I have no prob with you running that run it. I dont run this class because its slower or easier I love the idea of 1 motor for every1 and you can't modifiy it in anyway and I don't care what motor would of been picked for this class could of been a tz 5 port same power plant for every1 thats what I like now if I lose I dont go well I need more motor The more talent you run against the better you will become

A long time ago when I first started racing they had a beginner class. If you won 3 a mains (1st) you moved up in class. Maybe the same rules could be applied to the spec class. If you win 3 spec classes you move up to open or mod?

Had there been another option I am sure a handfull of us would have run it. Case in point, when a mod class is offered I always run it rather than the 13.5 option, like at the OW.

Steve.i agree 100%. but on most regular race weeks at bumps there aren't any olm. for instance, the only way to get my 8th dodc national points race in this weekend was to run llm[only 5 nitro edm and 5 olm]. neither class had enough to count.

Ok, Nick, Russ, & Steve S. according to what y'all are saying, I guess im a cherry picker then. My outlook on this is the 13.5 class & the old 27turn class is some of the most competitive racing there is & thats why I run it ! Running w/Salvas this summer was some of the most fun I have had in years. Thats not to mention the cost. It is a lot cheeper for me to run 13.5 of LLM than it is to run OLM. I also thought the reasoning behind the LLM & LSprint classes where to keep cost down for the racers, not to limit them to certain classes ! Plus, I know on top of all this bull, that some of the people presently running the open classes would also like to run the other classes. Quite a few of us that ran together for years have already had this conversation, but now I guess they just call it cherry pickin ! Again, just somebody elses :twocents:

GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith S.

signman501

As for the so called cherry pickin, I don't go for it. All the 13.5 classes and the limited classes ought to be open to anybody. The motor & batt/engines are the same, it still is open to driver & setup. Can't get with the money because it's not a big thing. A $500 engine with a weak tuner/driver won't beat a $150 good motor with a good tuner/driver.
If you have a novice or sportsmen class that is for beginners. Mostly everyone in the central pa wants to run with the big boys. We saw that when Newville had the novice classes. Everyone ended up running in the open classes and the novice classes died.

I'm not one of the better drivers but a lot of guys don't say anything on the stand. I have a problem with it because I have a problem with where I am on the track. Sometime I wish the tracks would mark the turns, either on the wall or the surface 1,2 & 3,4. It may sound stupid but I do have a mental block about where I am and I tend to get lost.

Now I like racing with Keith & Steve S. and the other good runners. I've learned a lot from them. I do my best to try to stay out of the way but I try to follow them when I can. It has helped alot, although it may not show it.

I just wanted to throw in my nickels worth.
