Its more like highway robbery ...Batts that cost 30 to bring in counrty to sell at 90.00 Thats not what I would call a racers deal and the motors OEm for less than 50.00 ...COme on wheres the deal in this Open the field up and do the tech that any other org uses and be done paying this money for nothing ...

There is a reason for this program and it is obvious you don't get it. Do some research and read the threads on here and you will understand more. There is always another class you could try.

When this program was put in place in December of 08 the Novak motors were selling for $89.95 from tower hobbies and most other mail order outlets. We set the minimum sale price at $90.00 at that time which was an integral part of our agreement with Novak agreeing to supply the motors to us. Since than the pricing of the Novak branded motors has come down $10.00 retail from what it was 10 months ago. The motors being supplied for use as DODC motors have not however gone down in price. I have explained several times what the purchase of DODC motors and batteries help to support. They are only available from those who have adopted and supported the DODC rules and do a part, albeit a small part to help pay back those who are giving us all a place to race with some stability and consistency.

DODC does not import the motors or batteries so throwing out some estimated OEM price is meaningless to this discussion. The prices charged by shops for these products are perfectly in line with similar quality equipment. Both Novak and SMC stand behind their products and have offered the racers a very good value for their investment.

There are over 170 racers signed up to run the 13.5 SPEC classes at the Open Wheel Race this year. I can't speak for them but I will assume the rules apparently suit them just fine. Im curious what other "org" you are comparing us to and what their "tech" procedure is. If what they are doing is so much better, plese by all means take your cancerous attitude and go there! I for one will not miss you and I know you have already worn out your welcome amongst the "dirtoval hillbillies" as you refered to them this summer.

On a personal note, Just between you and me. If you plan on acting like an A-hole again this year than I would advise you not to purchase any of the equipment refered to above or even bother entering the race. It will just be a waste of money when you are driving back to New York wednesday afternoon.

Sincerely,
Rob Cutman

All i would like to know is if we can run a novak 13.5 orange ring, without a do.com sticker. I have one that the sticker curled up and died last spring, But still runs good.

All 13.5 SPEC motors and batteries must have the DODC sticker on them.

Send it back to the dodc boys with the shrivelled up sticker saying its a defective motor. If you are required to have the sticker on then it shouldn't be falling off. Otherwise it sounds like they got you by the balls and you are buying a new motor when you shouldn't have to in a cost controlled class.

The other question is where are you running this motor or what are you doing that its getting too hot or wet causing this sticker to fall off?

food for thought.

Wet won't remove the sticker. Must have got it too hot. I've been running both of my motor hard since last OW race and they are fine. You really shouldn't try to take off the stickers.

I think that DODC has done what ROAR FAILED to do........................grab the bull by the horns and throw it to the floor by making a certain motr and battery the standard legal combo. I got into dirt oval (again) last march and have so much fun (and aggrivation) in the last 8 months that I almost forgot I even own a pan car.

DODC and PA NITRO TOUR another great combo for racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, just some food for thought. I, like the Signman, have run one of my motors since the begining of the year. The one end of the sticker started to come off when I tried to clean the outside w/brake clean, so they can come off w/out getting them hot.

Another thing that can be looked @, in my opinion ,is the serial number on the can. Even if the sticker comes off, the DODC motors have there own numbers. Maybe , if the sticker has come off the motor, for whatever reason, it could be brought to the powers to be before a big race & marked letting tech know it is a legal motor !

I did'nt know about the serial numbers BUT that's a great idea to help save the racers some cash ............

Rob or TP, are the current dodc motor/batt combo going to stay in place for next season? We have a new track in Bethel CT, and want to run the DODC rules.
what we do not want is for the club to buy the equipment and in dec it might change to other motor/batts.

IE; now using the Novac SS motor, next season going to the Balistic motors??
Love the 2year lockin:thumbsup:
thanks.
