Custom Works King of the Wings Oct 3rd

As most of you know mother nature took the feature win at the first try for this years King of the Wings. We are going to try it again and have set a make up date of Oct 3rd. We realize that the reschedule date will make it tough for some to return this year but for those who can this is still going to be an awesome night of racing. We have some killer awards, a little cash, and a ton of race prizes to give away.

Racing will start at 5pm and we expect to run 3 heats and main.

Since the car count will likely be a little lower we have decided to add the 13.5 Late Model class for one last race this season. (State Series rules apply) We will pay back the top 3 in cash and have prizes for the remaining A main drivers.

This may be one of the last nights of the season to get a little mud on the tires. Come on out and have some fun.

Hope to see you there.

Sounds like this race will still have a great turnout. Unfortunately we'll lose a few entries that we had the first time around but can't make the rain-out date, but it also sounds like we are gaining some that couldn't make the first time and can make it this time. I hear most of the Custom Works crew is coming back.

The microphone issues from last time are fixed and (weather permitting) the track should be in good shape. Should be a good one, can't wait! :greenflag::whiteflag::checkeredflag:

I understand Lee it's a long way for you to watch the corn grow. The weather has not been racer friendly this season.

Right now were looking at about a 30-40% chance of rain Friday and Saturday. As of today the Saturday forecast is starting to look a little better but who knows.

CShearburn
September 29th, 2009, 10:46 PM
If it were me I'd wait before making the determination on going or not. Every few hours the forecast changes, and its different depending on which weather report you look at.

Personally I prefer them to predict rain for Saturday this early in the week. Usually means we'll be fine... lol.

Would Sunday be a rain day?

Sonny B

Would Sunday be a rain day?

Maybe.

I will say it's looking better. The rain percentage is a little less for both days and what rain they are calling for is termed as occasional scattered showers. Not like last time when it was a solid drenching for a couple of days.

If this continues I'm feeling pretty confident that we will get it in Saturday night.

Bring a jacket temps in the mid 50's.

Congrats go out to everyone that won at the King! Jay was on game all night!!! Poetry in motion watching that car track around the turns. Thanks goes out to Jay for putting a few tweaks on my machine just before the Mains. It helped a bunch. Also congrats goes out to Shearburn for his win in Nitro. As cold as it was, the nitros were burning up the track. And a BIG atta boy for local legend Tommy Sagle for taking home the Grand Prize - an Arnie Fie built Outlaw with a DXR 3 radio and Novak speed stuff! Look out for Mr. Sagle next year. Like myself, he drives lefty and only has a righty radio before now! Tommy, believe me, it'll help a lot. Shelly Renard gets the Goody's Headache Powder award for having her right front explode into pieces in turn 1 after some minor contact with another car. Thanks goes out to Allen, Barb, Mark, Sonny, Chris and everyone else that put their efforts into keeping dirt oval alive and well at Allen's. The track was fast and everyone there had a great attitude. Time to break out the late models for the winter season. Hope to see everyone again next year, same Bat Time, same Bat Channel!

Just want to say thanks to everyone that made it out last night. It was a little cool and windy but the track was fast and the racing was hot.

A big thanks to Allen and Barb for giving us a great place to race. Also to Mark for running a smooth show. A 1 hour rain delay, 3 heats and a main, and done just after 11pm. Also to Doug Canham for the cool awards.

To all the sponsors you guys rock. The Arnie Fie built Custom Works Outlaw Sprint was very cool and Mr. Sagle was a happy winner. I think every racer went home with a prize or two and a little cash for the top finishers. Without these companies would could not do this. Thanks guys.

Thanks Allen and Barb for hosting the race again this year. I don't think people realize what they have been going through this summer and to still be willing to host the races without complaint is remarkable. The track was fast and the food was good. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

Thanks Mark Daniels for doing another great job with scoring and getting the program through quickly, and to Sonny for promoting the KOTW again this year.

Wow ! Where do I begin? Thanks so much to Rob and Arnie at Customworks for their great support of dirt oval racing in the midwest and for the Arnie Fie built Outlaw sprint that I had the good fortune to win at the KOW race. That car WILL be put to good use! Thanks to Novak for their very fine GTB esc to power it with. Sonny Brown, thanks for your efforts at pulling things together. You know how much a south-paw radio will help me out that Spektrum DX3R and JR Racing servo are the best! I was very lucky to win this great rig the only better luck I have had was to meet all the great people I have in this hobby/sport. Some times I think we do not remember what a great cross-section of people we have in this hobby, all together to HAVE FUN driving our little cars in a circle. I am more guilty than most of getting "bent outa shape" when things don't go all that well for me on the racetrack, everybodys diffrent but we are all here because we love racing this stuff. Just something to think about at seasons end. Thanks to all my racer friends for helping keep me "up to speed" this summer. Mark Daniels is the master at running a tight ship but keeping the race program flexable enough to make it work, not easy to do. Well done! Most of all a very big thanks to Allen and Barb for giving us a place to play with our toys. Your kindness and loyality to all the racers to carry on with the program at this very rough time for you guys means a lot to all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Well Here we are boyz! Let's see if I can still download today. I'm going to apologize right up front that I didn't take a bunch of pics during the races. The weather was inhospitable to have fun going around snapping pics. But here are the line up of winners that stuck around after the main event. Congrats to everyone that made the A's and because we don't always remember everyone that shows up to make this event fun, let's give everyone that made it out to Allen's a big round of applause. We all buy these cars, build, work, sweat, tweak, race, tweak, race some more, and have fun with our group of guys and gals. Every racer seems to help anyone that asks and sometimes if they look like they're struggling and don't ask. I'd also like to thank everyone that came out to our spot and checked out our pics and for the nice comments. Tommy and I appreciate it. So here, if I don't screw it up, are the pics for KOW 09.
