First off again i would like to say thanks to Big Bill, his familiy and the staff of the raceway that helped bull this event off.
I know very few people on here, i was honered to meet alot of the guy's for the first time as a racer and not just someone watching and helping like i did at the first ONS Race in TN, which is my home track.
Now to the point, being that i was at both days of racing at the MCR ons race and seeing all the racing action that went on, it was so cool to see, that was the very race that got me back into oval, till that point 1/10 pan car was all i ran in oval up at MSA.
With the first round being a MCR I saw alot of things as far as motor's, tires, bodies being used, unmodded motor's, modded motor's, rubber tires, foam tires, bazooka bodies, C&M bodies losi ofna etc..at the end of the night there was confusion about who fninished where, that issue was resolved and a great main then took place, foams, rubber tires, modded motors etc where all used. weeks after that, NO huge rants on who used what, who was sponcered, who used modded motor's who used foams or rubber tires.
One or two ther ONS events accure and still no rants about the abouve issues, the Familiy RC event takes place, no real issues there it seem's.
Then we get to Big Bills and the flood gates open. I know that when ever i go to a race i research what the rules are, what tires are being used, what motors are allowed. I am going to FL next week and would like to race while i'm there, just a reg club race, and i'm reserching what the rules are , what motors are allowed and what bodies and tires, just for a club race. Big Bills was a ONS event, granted some of the racers this may have been there first event like myself, never raced in a ONS event before, but i know what was allowed because i asked or already understood what can be used. I have been around full scale racing all my life, word of whats fast gets out fast. I could have used the bsr's myself, but i had RC4less foams, would i have been faster with the BSR, that remains to be seen, what people are forgetting the talent behind the wheel still has to drive the car, bottom line is i just dont see how this event at big bill's has caused such an uproar due to what has taken place over tire's, motor's chassis sponcered drivers etc.. Because off all this the hard work of the track crew, Big Bill, his family and the people that drove countless hours are being overshadowed by this, if i would have finished in the lower main's t wasnt going to be because i had the wrong tires or motor or body, it would have been to the lack of myself not being prepared, and noone can be blamed but myself. To Big Bill and his family, and the track crew that gave everyone a great track to battle on, your efforts will not be forgotton and I personally apologize for the nonsence that has accured at your event. I had a blast and hope to see you next year if not sooner.
