FYI
The 1/8 tire of choice for Big Bills was the BSR 30 shore, for any heat and anytime of day and anytime on the track.
These tires are available through some retailers, not many yet. Some were told that they were prototype tires, they are not.
Some (in the know) have been testing these with good results.
I'm not sure why they haven't been talking about them but they should. They wear good and have fantastic forward bite.
We found out about these tires about 5 days before the Bills event (quite by accident)and ordered some for the race.
They were an advantage, a foam tire this good deserves a separate class, IMO.
Foams to this point have had no on track advantage, these have that advantage. If you didn't run them you were racing for second or third.
Have your local hobby shop order you a set next time you have a foam tire need.
Sincerely,
Chad Smith

No need to get excited, some people did not know about the tires, I'm letting them know.
Foams were legal, they were faster, I had them, I ran them, I don't care how much they cost, I don't care if they last one round, but I will care if I'm running with you and only a few others.

Monti put some info on them over on Hobbytalk in the dirtoval forum but nothing on here. They have been out for awhile(a few weeks anyway). They have a new 10th compound out too that some guys are having good results with as well.

Do foam tires need cut down? Do you groove them? What track conditions call for foams vs. rubber tires?
TIA

I know that the 2nd place and 5th place cars both ran RC4LESS foams. I think 4th place did also. Perhaps the BSR tires were better, but I know Tim's car was very good on rubber tires also. I am not about to say that tires won the race for him. I would give credit to these 3 factors before the tires. You choose the order of importance.... First, his perfectly prepared chassis, second, to his crazy fast engine, and last but not least, his talent behind the wheel...
BSR tires were great on his car, and maybe Bruce needs to work on some 30's from RC4LESS.
I think the biggest secret is the magnets placed under the track on the inside groove during the track resurrection... Tim asked me not to say anything but i couldnt help it...LOL

Chad, I broke on lap seventeen about six foot from Tims back bumper. He ran that 5.69 on about lap thirty. It wasn't time for me to go yet. lol I'm just saying they are not an advantage. My wife said we where acting like twelve year olds so this will be my last post about the tires also.lol
I can't wait till next year!

Just to let everyone know, RC4less is going to work on a 30 shore tire. We have had this discussion since the 2nd ONS race at Family back in May when the the BSR tires came out. Yes I was running the BSR tires, yes they were a 30 shore tire, I did run the rc4less tires, no they are not a 30 shore but I worked on the tire to get it to the desired durometer reading that I wanted but the track conditions would not let the tire break in the way that I wanted them to and that is why I ran the BSR tires because they were already broken in. I only got the BSR tires to see what all the hub bub was about. I can't tell hardly any difference in the two except for the color of the wheel. When Bruce comes out with his 30 tire I will be on that tire if it is the one needed for the track condition. Bruce makes great products and his tires are the best around on dirt. Everything that was run on my car is, has, and always will be available to the public.
