i'd come with the tractor and rototiller - that would work the best - too far to haul it - no job = no money

if you want the old clay and new clay to knead together good. try tearing the old stuff up a little but if anything try watering it just a little and run it in. don't worry bout tearing it up while running it in. once it is packed tear it up again and so on to get it to knead together. after a while it should be good. hope this helps.

;)hate to tell you their little kid... But that process is already in progress. Instead of running your mouth that the track doesn't look any different and saying it hasn't been torn up when I myself tore the track up then del and thelma put SHOLVES of clay on the track and scrapped it.. so why don't you stop talking about **** till you know what is going on.. you talk about track all the time and i haven't seen you out their at all yet...so come on out and help we'll be their tomorrow shovling.. better see you their...

After a full day of working on the track, it is almost race-able. The new clay packed very well and was smooth and tacky. Still need to get a few of the humps out of the straights. Del, Thelma, and Mike put in a 12 hour day working on it. Makes my 4 hours seem small.
I have faith the track will be in tip-top shape for the PA Nitro Tour.
Thumbs up for the new clay!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

after along 12 hr day in the sun, the track was starting to look really nice. the surface seemed to pack very well for what little we spent packing it. the whole track was dug up with my rototiller [9am-2pm], so it should knead to the old surface very well. around 2pm we drug and scraped it to breakup all the clumps of new clay and to fill in all the low spots. we finished that around 6 pm. by this point all the new clay was like a silt on top. the garden tractor i was driving is equipped with a sprayer and water tank. for the last 2 and a half hours i sprayed the track while the go cart and golf cart drivers packed it[ i think they were trying to kill me]. we had not planned on packing it today, but i'm glad we did. it got very nice[the best i've ever seen the place]. it will need a good soaking tomorrow, and dell plans to drag it with tires on thursday, to smooth it out even more. any new surface is a work in progress, and this one will be no different. but like i said, the track was in great shape when i left tonight. the go kart was even putting down some rubber. so feel free to come up sunday and play on the new surface for free. del will post on here on thursday to confirm this but as of now it's a go!!!!!:twocents:

if your planning on coming up to sunday's free practice, the bridge is still closed. you will need to take the thompsontown exit or the the mifflintown exit. either one and follow rt 333 to port royal. left on sixth st., right at the top gate. track is located on the inside of the big track in turns 1-2. drive around the outside of turns 3-4 to the backstretch and cross into the inside of the big track there. see you there. mike schell

Track was better than last time I was there. There is still work to be done on the front stretch, which im sure will be done by the time the Tour race comes along. The back stretch has a slight wave to it , but very smooth ! I think everyone involved did an awesome job to get the track into the shape it is. I know they plan on working on it somemore & im sure , weather permitting they will make it right.
I think Nick had the right idea & they should have a warmup race the Friday before the Tour race. Just food for thought.
