until 2000 then started racing rc cars last summer.I am just tired of hearing the negativity about the dams. They give the car stability at high speeds, and I am crazy about speed. You need to go to 1/8th modified thread, there was atleast 20 pages of stuff concerning these cars. There are quite a few pics of the cars in the 80s, check it out. Glad to have you on board. :revs: :greenflag:

jeff..Jeff I was talking about full size cars. Search Charlie Swartz then you will understand. The rule for the dam is 3 inches from the center of the front wheel. 5 inches above the deck and no longer than 17 inches. We will be racing with them Saturday. So bolt one on and give it a try. :revs: :greenflag:

Just talked to Jeff about saturdays race and we will run two classes of 1/8th latemodels this week only to get ready for the ONS race next week. A class of side dams and no side dams. Guys that want to work on setup for next week can and the rest of us can run our regular class . After the races we will all have time to do setup work under the lights. Hope to see eveyone sat.

MikeI makes no sense to split the classes just because certain people dont like side dams. There is nothing to be gained win or loose. I think it is more important to test our set ups with the dams. We need our set ups under race conditions. Dilute the class for the guys that dont want the dam? Makes dam good sense to me.... If any one trys to race their car in the ONS race with out the dam. Well good luck you wont make it out of the C main. You can take that to the bank....

We had 16 cars last week without side dams, why would you dilute that class. Those people have the right to race the class they like also. Guys still want to have fun .

Hi guys, I'm thinking of coming up today but need some lexan to make a spoiler and possibly a side dam.Does anyone have some lexan I could buy today. I may need to buy some tires also If anyone has an extra set it would be great. I just finished my car and have not had time to get everything. Thanks

I just talked to Bill and he said you could use his side dam and he has both kinds of tires you can use. So come on up and they will get you fixed up..

MikeYou would think that the ONS is having a points race at this track next week that setting the cars up for it would be priority one. When I talked to Jeff he told me that if you dont want to run one then dont. He never said anything about making two classes. And besides I dont want to have to be down there till midnight trying to set my car up. The weekly race if fun, but you win nothing.... So lets focus on the ONS race, its for points and prize money....

Donnie,
I've never ran a side dam, what does it normally do to the car? Does it get tight. loose, or just overall more grip (side bite) through the corner.
Thanks for any insight.

Hi Mark, The sidedam makes the car hug the corner better. Probably won't have to change much on the car . Maybe tighten it up a little. Track is great. Jeff has put together a great track in a short amount of time. A big thanks to Donnie for the tires last night. I had fun and is was great to see all the racers I haven't seen in a while. See ya next week.
