I am working on a new bomber to try and get into this season, if possible. I have a GT2 roller and having a hard time trying to find some mounts for the body. What are some of the others using with the GT2 rollers? Or is there another chassis I should be working with?

We have raced three events using the rules that are in place. I will take a vote at the drivers meeting at the next event. If there is no protest I see no reason why we cant allow that body at that race. I am not changing the rules this year... If some one has a complaint with this posting, then the rules will have to be enforced as the are now.... 70 and earlier...

Personally, the new 70's Camaro wouldn't bother me to race against but I probably wouldn't run it because it's too wide. If my 200mm,(7"), '69 Camaro body was just a 1/2" narrower, it would be perfect. I personally think the new body is pretty cool looking. Would fit real well on a buggy like the T3, T4 and the XXX with lowered shock towers, TC3 shocks. A nice class would be those with a 4000 2 cell lipo and 13.5 motor and rubber tires only...nice spec class!! Anyway, back on subject...

I had not planned on building a bomber until I saw Dalton's Sunday. The Camaro body is awesome! Looks just like the cars I see at the "real" track Friday nights. Jamie, you two did a great job on the Camaro, made a bomber-lover out of me.:thumbsup:

This is how i see the deal from the outside looking in on the bomber car. #1 I love a car to look as real as what i see at the full scale tracks, i have seen 68 and 69 camaro's with 70 and up nose pieces, and thats cool. we say this is just toy car racing BS, we are grown men and have a competitive nature, screw the toy car thought, I show up every weekend to spank tail Period, and i will go by the rules as the track official deems fair.

Let's get a true perspective on what this is about, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, Camaro, mustang, there isn't one bomber body being raced at our track that has some COT aero package over the rest, those bodies are more like craftsman truck bodies huge drag charictoristics. ontop of 4 huge exposed tires.

Now, this is not to say any of the other classes finish any closer, but untill there are 2 to 3 car coming out of turn 4 sideways tires looking like dinner plates crossing the finish line on the same lap, body is not going to make the class any closer in speed, it all boils down to that black box you hold in your hand. I went to the first meeting before the track was built to discuss classis to run. The Bomber class, was the one that you could take an old truck chasses out of the closet put some approved tires and approved body’s (from a list) that was predetermined over a year & a half ago. (You know the one none of you where even at) The thought then was an affordable class (2 to 3 hundred dollars) a beginner/intermediate driver could run and even win a race or two with, of witch I did. Then I stared getting lapped by Guys with speedy's kits and after market motors. Again I had to play the Money Game and go bye $300.00 - 400.00 just to stay on the same lap. It was not my choice to play the Money Game the class has just evolved to that point. Were all trying to stay on the same lap?
I don’t have a problem with the body Big D runs! I just like the Old School LOOK of the body’s that where on the first list (rules) put out when the class started And i have gone by that list ever since.

It's hard to ignore, but everything you just said conradicts everything in the first post you made. Your faster than just about everyone in the bomber class, yet something as simple as a dang camaro body is getting people upset, and i mean faster than by the amount of 4/10ths, you have a car that has all the good suspension components, a fast modded motor and a 68 camaro body. Thats brobably a 5 to 6 hundred dollor rig you have there. Big D gets a $17 camaro body and everyone gets all upset. The kid has a box stock bomber minus the suspension, and a $115 motor. No, no farting on the Hood, the car looks way to nice for that, but i do have a heat gun that will shape the front clip real nice and slick, Yeah, i know aero if you want to keep going in that direction:thumbsup: peace out racers.

Ok, I will lay down the bottom line..... Guys..... When we first met to put together this class, we disscussed the bombers, and what we wanted them to be. Here is the intention from the horses mouth.

This is a entry level class. We choose the platform for these cars because of the fact they are readily accesible, and the parts are stocked in most hobby shops.... We choose the tires because they would pose the challenge..... If you could get the car to hook with those tires, you were ready for any class of car. I said in the rules from day one!!! ALL MODS ALLOWED!!! with the exception of drivetrain, and arms...... End of discussion.....
This was suppose to be an introduction class for racers, not a beginner class.... There was never a limit upon money spent because that is racing..... You spend money to win.... It is in every kind of sport out there. The idea was to have a cheap introduction, not cheap racecars.......... If you like it, and want to be competitive, then you spend the money it takes to be in the top 3.

The rules also state that any body is allowed, as long as it is approved by Brad Dyer, or Me! I appreciate Mike your willingness to adhear to the rules... I applaud you for your devotion to the rules.... But lets not leave out the spirit of it all....

i agree with you i geting me one of the bodys myself but i think to some people its more then the body as is the money being spent trying to keep up for insinst i love to have one of your motor but my budget is short i do good to get the money just to race

I agrre with you totally, people think that money is going to get the good stuff to go faster, and to a point it does, Good fast engine's do cost money, it racing it has and always will be that way. But what got all this started was a a bomber driver who has sunk some money into his car that is saying a body is the advantage. Hell MCR can make a rule for that matter that will stop it all, everyone run whatever year car body 65 to 77 who cares, but make a AE 15 motor the spec motor for the car, and watch the talent rise to the top. And just so you know, if you have a motor you can get your hands on i will take care of it for you, I was just offering what i have available.;)

Hay Jimmy, I was not calling you or Dig D out. I love little man and I love what you’re doing with your car!
I wish every one had the ability.... I have just been going by the original rule from the start. (I will post them) for any one that was not at the first meeting, or has not been here from the start. The form asks our opinion and that is what I gave. (We all know what opinions are like I just like the Old School muscle car look. Originally I think brad and Dairren where trying to keep the money down. I did not want to get hit from every angel by a few on this form...lol if I really had a problem with anyone’s body I would call them out at the track,,, not on a key board.... Meaning I would protest it at the track. I have been involved in many types of racing from moonshine cars grandpa drove on weekends, to Moto-X to cart's. Protest is made at the track not on a computer. I have not said a word at the track. And did not mean to up set u or any one. I like the body you’re running. Now that Dairren obviously has approved it. ( All Bodies not on the list where, to be approved by Dairren or brad before hitting thee track)
I might get one. I just have to get over my Old School ways, and old rules.

I never thought a body would cause so much contreversy ( or however you spell it).Heck when I posted the pics of the other camero body I ran a little bit last year didn't get this much up roar started.Heck, as long as it isn't a latemodel body or something close to it then it shouldn't be that big of a deal.But you gotta understand this is really a semi new class and it still needs tweaking a little bit.But I don't make the rules I just run by them and I don't see why it just can not continue on being a fun class like it was when it first got brought out.Just my 2 cents.:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :beer:
