Can anyone tell me where (locally) to acquire the nylon nuts and bolts to affix the side dam to the car?
Are the legal side dam dimensions 5'' x 14"?
Also, can Gojo be used as a tire traction compound the same as Goop?
O'Reilly didn't have Goop. They have Gojo.... they said that they didn't think Autozone had Goop either.

You dont want Goop. Red label GoJo is what you need.

Hi Tony,
Here's a cut and paste from the 4WD rules for the side dam info...
"Sidedam: LEFT Sidedam WILL be allowed in this class. Dimensions are as follows. Maximum Height - 4in. (includes maximum 1/2in. wicker) measured from the top deck of the body. Maximum Length - 13 in, entire leading edge cannot extend forward of center of front axle(forward mounting limit) or extend rearward behind back edge of rear spoiler (rearward mounting limit). Two lexan tethers must be attached to sidedam at least 6in. apart."
I ordered a big bag of nylon nuts and bolts from Bruce Triplett at RC4Less.com. I don't know of anywhere that 'stocks' that stuff here in town. You can bum some of mine at the track if you replace them. I think Kipps hobbies and Lefthander RC (both mail order as well) also stock this sort of thing.
For some reason I remember getting my tub of 'Pumice-free Gojo' at Walmart.
FYI.....Right now, I'm getting good results using only the 'CW magic IT'. I put it on dirty tires and massage it in.....give the tires a quick wipe before you run and that's all. Other traction sauces are reputed to be better but as of yet, I've not been able to find anything that looks better on the stopwatch. I'm sure that might change as we gain time/experience on the track.

Some Ace Hardware stores have them in the popular 4-40 size as well as 5-50 sizes like what the MDM bodies are built with. I got mine from Fastenall. You can buy them in white & dye them with RIT dye.

Thanks everyone! Thank you Scott for helping me dial in my car today. It ran pretty good until the battery came loose and coasted at almost full throttle in to the wall of turn 3. Who would have thought that a front hinge brace on a xxx-s is different than all the backup parts I have in my xxx-4 parts box? I guess Gil Losi thought that one up! Oh well, fun while it lasted. I'll hunt down some dusty old forgotten xxx-s parts somewhere on the web before I race again.
Thanks again for everyones help, at the track and on the forums. Also, thanks to the guy with the Jameson whiskey t-shirt that sold me his last 8 nylon fastners at the track today. That was side dam-nice of you! Ha ha (lol) Sorry I didn't catch your name.
