Hey everyone....

I came up to watch practice today. I never gave oval racing much thought, but now I really would like to jump in with both feet.

I have a few spare vehicles that I could make the off-road to dirt oval transition with, but I have one that I think would be a quick adaptation. I have a Losi XXX-S 4wd carpet sedan that is gathering dust. I don't know if I can rustle up a legal body to race with by next weekend. There will be racing next sunday, right?

Anyway, I was wondering if I could race with the sedan body in case I don't score a body in the meantime.

Also.....

What tires to I need? Foam? Rubber? Maybe Losi xxx-4 buggy tires with the pins ground off?

What class would the 4wd be in? Should I be running stock or mod? Brushless or brushed?

Pretty Please????

Anyway..... I guess its up to Scott.

One thing about the xxx-s........ the battery is on the right side. Exactly the opposite of what you'd want. I still think that being a touring car, that it would be the easiest to adapt. I also have my B4 and my T4. I'd rather run the B4 if I had to choose as I am still running the T4 down at dirtburners from time to time.

What time do the doors open on wednesday for practice before racing begins. I am off on wednesday and I would like to get there as soon as I could,

Tony,

I just answered your PM. I thought Smac might see this but I guess not.

At any rate, for now, I'd reccomend silver (NOT pink) compound Dirt Oval rears (BSR or RC4Less) all the way around on your TC. You'll have to remove the hex drive and run the wheels right on the roll pins. Also, the front tires will have to be trimmed to clear the front shocks when turning the wheels. This is WAY easier than it sounds with an xacto knife and a tire machine (available at the track). Look me up and I'll show you how.

As far as bodies, I'm sure Smac would let you run the TC lid for the time being. We haven't been getting many 4WD LMs so the more the merrier. I have some of the narrow LM bodies from Mcallister...I'll bring them for you to look at.

Awesome!! :D Thanks for the reply! I am off on wednesday, so I figured that I would get up there as soon as I thought people might be there. If I get there too early, I'll go hang out at Mark Twain for a while.

See you wednesday. I appreciate the the offer to lend me a body. I'll try to get one on order after I get some input on wednesday.

To clarify, I don't have any bodies to lend....I have several 'new' bodies....if any would work I'd sell you one.

I was going to run my TC3 as a VTA car....but I really have lost the desire to race carpet up at Glidescope. Instead of selling it I'd much rather convert it to a 4wd late model. Hopefully we get a few more of em'.
