Hey guys, I need some help.

I'd like to head down to Kansas City this summer to do a little racing at Checkered Flag Raceway (http://www.checkeredflagrcraceway.com/). I want to run in the 1/10 electric sprint car class, but I'm used to foams and have NO idea where to start for a rubber tire set-up on my JRC Lightning sprinter.

Here's a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qUFoiQL60M) from the sprint car race this past weekend at Checkered Flag Raceway (http://www.checkeredflagrcraceway.com/).

If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! It's about a 6-7 hour trip...but they get 90-100 entries for a regular race...and it's just a great group to get to race with.

thanks,
Curtis P.

Curtis, not sure what tires they are running but it looks like mini pin spikes would work great, if you can get your hands on a set. I would try 50wt in front & 30-35wt in rear. RC 4 Less silver spring on rt front & black on left front. Reverse that spring setup for rear. If your sprinter has the DD setup in it I would suggest switching to the gearbox & take along a slipper just in case. Looks like a very loose surface. Hope this helps & good luck .

GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith S.

I was there this past weekend. The track started loose and bowties were the choice tire, but when it got a "groove" it seemed that holeshots was what most ran. There is alot of fine dusty sand in the mix this year.

Keith,

Thanks! I'll give that a try and see how it goes. I'm not sure when I will be heading to Checkered Flag, I just wanted to get my car ready. Thanks again!

The track on 5-3-09 was more like it is in August than early May, Curt. Very hard, dry slick and it took rubber for the mains. Everyone was scratching their heads on tire choice. my guest driver put my extra truck in 2nd for the start of the main and hen liked edges on the front and double dee's in the rear . The winner borrowed a set of holeshots for all the way around on his truck from me and won. So my tires were fast even if I wasn't- LOL!

See ya soon.
