Track work will continue each Thursday night and hopefully we will not need to dedicate a weekend day, as we know they are precious this time of year.
On April 9 we had a great group that came for a meeting a we put in an hour plus on the track; thank you one and all.
We removed all debris and raked the entire track, infield, and pits.
Cleaned the catch basins
Re-arranged the pit tables for better flow and electrical hook-up
Work will continue Each Thursday night for the following projects:
Replace the back stretch wall; from turn two through turn 4 with wrapped wood fronted by the same plastic as we have at S&H.
Paint remaining walls white
Stain pit tables light gray with semi-transparent oil based stain
Re hang the electrical wires, which were brought down by storm damage this winter
Connect a new PA system
Investigate installing a misting system on the top of the outside wall, three or so feeds that can run independently for different sections of the track
Remove the clay mounds from the infield
Build a top for the center catch basin
Seed the infield
**Look for a bleacher section that we can set-up for spectators; or at least section off an area to keep all non-racers away from turn 4!!!

Weather looks great so lets get together again and tackle some of the items on the list above.
Pick an item or two and bring the necessary tools. We'll need a truck to make a materials run too.
One item that is not on the list was the agreement to bury all but the top third of a corrugated drainage pipe on the inside of the plywood strips in the corners. We can use shovels, rakes and a few wheel barrows ,so please add those to the list.
Thanks

????????
Madball;
You certainly can, but I'm missing the connection. Or are you referring to the one you ran into last year that is weakened?
Hope to see you soon.
As for the WDRA Series, see the thread down the page a bit.

If there are 60 hours of work to do, how many weeks will it take to get the track ready?

D) I was never good enough at math to figure that out, no wonder roll-out eludes me.

Monday May 4 is a GO! Reports have the track ready to use, thanks to the hard work the previous three Thursday nights and Jerry dedicating his Friday to the grooming.
Still lots of work to do, but it won't stop us from hot lapping this coming week and starting of 31st season started on time!!

Hey guys
The forecast may be gloomy, but please don't stay away. Even if you get a little rain, there's still plenty to do!
4 Yards of crushed stone is being delivered this afternoon to back-fill the back stretch
Once that is spread we can move the two pit tables back and re-hang the electrical
We can repair the old pit tables as well.
See Ya.......At The Track:thumbsup:
