what is going on with the 18th mini latemodels what are the rules on them this year We will be running the same rules as we ran up at Allens. Only change will be the tires. You will be able to run pin tires. We will be running these on the small oval. Thanks....Mouse
Minimum Weight: 1LBS.10oz. (26 ounces / 737 grams)
If needed, any additional ballast or lead must be added within the center battery section of the chassis only (top deck is fine).
Minimum Ride Height: 6mm (0.236in.)
NEW! Any mini-scale NiMH battery up to 1600mah is allowed. No Li-Po.
ALL parts and peices must remain stock and unaltered unless otherwise stated. No milling, cutting, drilling extra holes, or modifying of the chassis or any part of the car to alter the original design or to reduce weight.
No parts can be removed unless otherwise stated. Any allowed modifications or aftermarket parts will be listed below.
Chassis / Suspension
Filing a moving part to correct binding from the factory is allowed.
Shimming to fix slop or adjust camber links is allowed. Shimming suspension mounts, or suspension arms and/or C-Hubs after removing material may be considered altering of the original design and will not be allowed.
NEW! Aftermarket steering drag-links are allowed. However, the drag-link must be the same dimension as the Losi drag-link (hole to hole). Bell-cranks and other steering pieces must remain stock unless otherwise noted.
NEW! Aluminum Front (top and bottom) bulkhead is allowed along with a front bulkhead brace.
Aftermarket Shocks & Springs are allowed.
Removing the rear lower shock mounts and mounting the shocks directly to the arm is allowed.
Adjustable turn-buckles and aftermarket ballcups are allowed.
Any Mini-T Ball-differential is allowed.
Electronics
The electronics can be moved to personal preference. The battery can be mounted in either the center or left location. NEW! The battery retaining strips on the chassis may not be removed to allow the battery to be moved further left. The battery must remain in one of the two stock locations and secured with battery strap.
You may change out the radio/receiver and servo for your preference.
Aftermarket connectors may be used for Battery to ESC connection. No hard wiring the battery to the ESC. Must use connectors.
Additional fans, heat-sinks, or motor coolies for the motor or ESC is not allowed.
ESC & Motor
Drivers will have a choice between the Stock Losi Motor or the 4200kv Mamba brushless motor.
If the Stock Losi Motor is used, the stock ESC and Motor must be used (ESC Part #:LOSB0826 / Motor Part #:LOSB1216) The motor must remain stock from factory. The end-bell (as well as tabs securing end-bell to the can) must remain intact and unaltered from factory. Cutting or twisting of the comm is not allowed. Must also use stock, unaltered brushes in motor (no serrating, slotting, cutting, or drilling holes). Stock brush springs and stock connectors for Motor to ESC must also be used. NEW! BRUSHED GEAR RULE: 16 / 60 (aftermarket gears are allowed but must be 16/60)
If the Mamba 4200kv Brushless motor is used, then drivers will only have the choice of Castle Creations Mamba-25, Sidewinder, or MicroPRO speed controls. Other ESC's are not allowed until approval prior to use. BRUSHLESS GEAR RULE: Unlimited
Tires, Wheels & Inserts
(REVISED RULE DUE TO TIRE SHORTAGE)Must use Stock Losi Mini Late Model Front Tire & Wheel on the front (#:LOSB1169). Due to shortage of rear tires, drivers will have choice of the stock Losi Mini Late Model Rears (#:LOSB1184), or mounting Front tires on rear wheels, or using Stock Slider "Street Meet" rear tires (#:LOSB1182 or #:LOSB1183) for the rear only. Altering the inserts or wheels in any way will not be allowed. (painting or coloring the wheels is fine)
Gluing and/or taping the tires to prevent traction rolling is allowed. Non Wintergreen based tire additive is allowed.
Body
Losi 18th Latemodel Bodies Only. All windows in body must remain intact and unaltered.

Minimum body height: 3.5in (measured at centerline of car on roof)
The rear detachable wing(spoiler) is optional (Part #: LOSB1334)
The front body supports (located on top of front shock tower) must be run on the car in stock location unaltered. This cannot be altered to lower the body.
Intentional flaring of front fenders or rear quarter panels not allowed. Adding extra fins, spoilers, belly-pans, side dams or any other additional aero devices to the car or body is also not allowed.
