Truck Class

Enough interest has now been shown to warrant the addition of an electric truck class to the list that will be running at SmacTrac this season. Details have not been finalized yet, but the rules will be similar to those that are listed for the MDM class.


There are truck bodies that are specifically for dirt oval racing and there are also East Coast bodies that are designed to fit a truck. We have not decided yet which bodies will be used, but I am leaning toward the use of the standard truck shaped bodies that are designed for dirt oval racing instead of the EDM type body.

These are the McAllister bodies that I was planning on. Are these made to fit an electric truck? I do not see how the forward mounted rear shock tower would fit under it without jacking up the back of the body!

What is the CDK body?

It looks to me that the dirt oval truck bodies are designed to fit nitro trucks that have the back shock tower behind the rear arms. We may have to go with the EDM/MDM type bodies after all.

no it is possible to use those truck bodies on an electric truck...If the body doesnt fit...just modifiy the body mounts...go to cdkmrcprodicts.com....you can take a look at their truck bodies...

At Checkered Flag in Bonner Springs, KS the guys that use the oval truck bodies typically just cut access holes for the rear towers and shocks to stick up through. If you change to any of the short shock conversions they fit without mods.

ive had both the cannon body from mccalister (i think its pictured on the right, maybe middle), and one of the cdk bodies, i prefered mccalisters' body...i used it on a jato 2.5 and a xxxnt and fit on both great.
