Finally got it finished up after going through a pair of side panels:) Car is a FTB4 powered by Novak. I made my own side panels and roof. Let me know what you guys think. I'm still waiting on another decal for the quarter and will probably have to open up the wheel wells just a tick more, but we'll see once we get it on the dirt.

All nice cars there guys...I'm curious..since I'm in the middle of full-size DIRTcar country,does anybody know if the local tracks around there run the DIRTcar Modifieds or maybe the IMCA-style mods?..DIRTcar used to known as DIRT(Driver's Indepedent Race Tracks for short),in case anydody's wondering..:thumbsup:

Racerman, all the full size dirt oval tracks around here are sanctioned by U.M.P. I think DIRT Motorsports is the parent organization that owns DIRTcar,World of Outlaws,(sprint & latemodel), UMP, & a couple other sanctioning bodies as well. UMP cars are very similar to IMCA cars. We don't see any Troyer, Bicknell, Teo? type mods around here. Not to take anything away from that type of racecar, they are some of the coolest, well built cars I've had the pleasure of watching. The racecar of choice varies geographically, kind of like how food varys geographically.

With the above being stated, we opted to have our RC modifieds more resemble real cars, (with exception to the center sections) that race in our region.

ok,thanks Overland..I was just wondering about that because the R/C cars in your area look a lot like the ones around here(thanks in large part to DODC's rules I would imagine)..you were mentioning the various manufacturers and I have had the pleasure of touring Bicknell's shops during their past open house back in March and I live right smack dab in Bicknell country..:D..I'm hoping to get to see some UMP/IMCA style cars real soon as the last couple times those cars have been in my area,there hasn't been enough cars to get a real feel for them..like,less than 10 cars doesn't make a real race,ya know what I mean..
one thing that I've noticed about the DIRT cars and the IMCA/UMP cars is how the rear suspension works in both of them..the DIRT mods don't get the "lift" in the rear that the other ones do..well,not as much anyways..as you might be able to tell in my avatar,that's the type of mods in our region...that is acvtually my DTR2 skin from the DTR league that runs around here..

Keep in mind when doing your final fitting of the body , that you account for tire growth. It looks like it's cut high enough, but you might have to lengthen the wheel openings a tad. Nice looking car though :thumbsup:

Here is a short story, when my dad was racing back in the 70's (Highland speedway) there was a car they called the flying duece. (Dennis Sellars) It was the #2 with wings on them and when it went around track it looked like the number was flying and I always thought that was pretty neat and different. :checkeredflag:
