Hey guys,

The website has a pretty 'basic' rule set.

-Min Weight 8.5 lbs
-Max engine size .28
-Production bodies only (folded or molded)
-No 'spike' tires
-Side dams to stated dimensions

Is it really that simple (I love it if this is true)? Spools, one-ways, smart diffs, etc are all legal? I can change shocks, chassis, etc? Does it even need to be a 'buggy based' car?

We'd like to match rules with Big Bill's down at Smac Trac and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything 'obvious'.

Sounds to good to be true? Nope, those are pretty much it. Only time the rules differ will be the August money race. We will have two classes of 1/8th LM's. Hope to see you soon. Bill just wants people to come race and have a good time.

I read through the rules for the rest of the classes.....it seems that buggy tires (spikes) are utilized for some of the other classes. I presume this creates a bit of 'fluff' on the track. How do the 1/8th cars on foam respond to this? I'm guessing they work well or you wouldn't need a 'special' class for the guys that want to run the NSCS tires?

Ya, last year we seen guys going just as fast on rubber as on foams. Foams seem to free the car up a little. Yes, the 1/10 cars and trucks do make some fluff, but it doesn't seem to bother the bigger 4wd cars any. Bill's track could be packed enough to run foams on all classes but everyone likes the cushion to much......right Mr. Dynotech and Mr. GFRP?

Should be a lot of LM this year. Looking forward to it. I might have 2......one electric and one nitro. See ya soon

I like the rules I'm thinking I have a project to do now...

Just need to figure out how to make it weigh that much.

Hey Guys...

I just got our rules posted over in the Smac Trac forum. I just wanted to point out that I've used a slightly different way to describe the side dam position. I copied it from the C&S Rules that are going to be used at the Late Model Sumer Nationals. Instead of measuring the side dam off a point on the body (which could be moved forward and backward on the car to move the side dam), I give a measurement off the front axle (we mainly want to control the side dam to wheel relationship). The side dam is basically in the same position as with your rules...just measured differently.

I realize that some may have side dams that don't measure exactly per the way I wrote the rules (because of differences in body design and A pillar location)....I'm NOT going to be super critical on this. I just needed to get something 'formal' on paper to get the class started. I'm just posting because I didn't want anyone from Big Bills reading our rules and thinking "oh great...now i need a different side dam set up if I ever race in STL". Just bring em the way you race them at your track!!!! It'll be fine.

I can almost smell the nitro!!
