The tire rule is set in play by the track. They have set the rule. If that tire was not on their list of track tire then it won't be ran. If they did want to allow the tire then they would have put it in the rules. That is why I suggested that you go to the meeting so you can submit that tire. It is up to them to make it legal or not. I would guess that the reason that it is not legal to run is because they are offering 2 rubber tires to be ran in that class. Adding a 3rd will mean that possibly a 4th would be soon and then a 5th then before you know it it will be open tires and if someone wanted to run in that class he would have to have 3 or 4 different kinds of tires to be competitive. By only allowing the 2 tires listed they will not hurt the surface of the track and each of those tires are fairly close in comparison. The road rage tire is legal in 1/10 scale trucks because it is 2wd with a small block engine. It will not hurt the surface. If you use that tire on an 1/8 scale with a 8.5 lb car and a big block engine and 4wd that will hurt that track. I have seen what that tire will do on certain tracks on an 1/8 scale.

yes that tire has been tried and it tears up the surface just like bowties or any other pin tire.it is just too aggressive.great explanation tim.the tires that will be allowed for 1/8th will not change this year.it will be the ofna tires that come with the kit or belted, the losi tire from the l8ght,and foams.all these tires are EQUAL at our track with the proper setup on your vehicle.this was proven last year in the a-main at the fall brawl.

its not really a open class. if the rules are set there really no point on having a meeting about rules other then eatting a pancake or two. I thought if it was a street tire u might be able to run it . on a hard packed track . just like bombers they should be able to run foams.:checkeredflag::checkeredflag:

well im sorry you cant be at the meeting there will be some new and exciting changes made to music city for this year.open also means unlimited but that is not the case either.I guess this year we will call it the 1/8 latemodel class, although our rules are MORE open than most everywhere else.In ump latemodel racing, which I did for 10 years, they too also LIMIT your tire choices to 10,20,30,40,and 55.We make rules to keep everyone within certain perameters to keep the racing equalized,we feel they are fair.we are racers also so I dont want to hear any complaining about that.if you would like to purchase the rights to music city r/c,cut me a check for 10,000 and you can make the rules.Thank you brad dyer co-owner,track preparer, promoter, rulemaker, rule enforcer, and anything else that needs done of music city r/c raceway:thumbsup::beer::checkeredflag:

if you want to run these tires are you going to repair the track for the owners and listen to the complaints about the bumps and holes youve put into the track.

Just thought I would show an example of what took place in another thread. Your ONS rules need clarified also. This guy was just asking a question and you jump all over him kind alike the the person did on the other thread. Here is how the ONS rules are written.

NITRO LATE MODELS 8TH SCALE

Engine's - MAX - Modified .28's
Side Dam - 3 in. from the center of front axle. 5 in. including bend from the deck. 17 in length.
Spoiler - 3 in. including wicker bend.
Tire's - Foam's or Rubber street tread only.
Bodies - Molded bodies only. Home made are not allowed
Weight - MIN - 8.5 pound's

It stated here Rubber street tread. And the tire he is asking is a street tread.

Just my 2 cents

What questions do you need answered. If it is not in the rules then it means that you CAN do it

I am not needing an answer. I am just showing an example. And by what you just stated here. The tire he is asking about would be legal do to the fact that the rules for the ONS only state RUBBER STREET TREAD tires. It doesnt give any certian part numbers like your post pryor to this one. If and when I come out East to race I will comform to your rules, what ever they may be. So I am not knocking down the rules you guys decide to run. I am just trying to show a point of why he asked the question. And there is nothing in the rules about the facted that some tracks may or may not allow certian tires.

I thought it was common knowledge that the ONS will not change existing track rules. I have made the change to the rule package. Sorry for the (Grey Area) misunderstanding. Rodger a couple of the tracks on the tour those tires are legal. Everyone that will follow the tour should check all of the different tracks house rules....

Now Donnie Please dont take that I am trying to tell you what to do.
With the Issue that you do have some tracks that do and do not allow certian tires. You might put an astric marking to check on track rules for tires.
Just for an example Donnie.
You know that I will travel to race. But with me not being in your area I wouldnt know to check on the track tire rules for the series race. In the 2 series that we run here. it is the same tires allow at all tracks. So I would have just assumed that all rules that are written for the series in your area would apply at all tracks.
Not trying to start trouble, Just wanting to help keep confussion down.

The Sprint class is utilizing DODC rules which are as follows regarding motor:

Open: Any .12 cubic inch engine. Un-modified .15 Rtr engines may be used but must utilize stock pullstart or rotostart system.
