You can run two heats of 13.5 win a 5000 without a problem. It is easier if you throw it on the charger as soon as you are finished each run and it won't take as long to charge if you run two heats.

I know a couple people were getting 2 heats then the main out of the 5000 lipos. If you got bumped from the b it probbally wont work out. each race takes about 1200-1600 out of the battery.
I have this charger- http://www.hobbypartz.com/tht6smbach16.html
with this power supply- http://cgi.ebay.com/DC-AC-Adapter-Charger-LCD-12-Volt-10-Amp-12V-10A-Cord_W0QQitemZ220349692128QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item220349692128
recieved the power supply in 2 days. This charger works well and you can charge, discharge, and balance and it shows you a bunch of data including each cell's voltage. Cuts off at 8.4 volts. great charger for the money.

I ran 2 heats and main without touching anything. 5000 lipo with brushed motor last year. I didn't have any practice time on it though. I assume brushless would be close to that. Looking forward to running with you. see you next month. I hope the weather cooperates.

so i take it this year for weekly racing is going to be open batt or am i wrong???? just a question why would you not stick with a common batt like the one in the dodc rules the 3200 packs.. thanks for the info and lookforward to running some 13.5 latemodel with you gents this summer.

they are just letting people use stuff they had last year 5000 is no real advantage other than run time. we plan on using dodc batts. if you have to buy batts. i would suggest dodc legal packs,we have had good luck with them.

i will agree with team rc - dodc package is the way to go - i have run them in weekely races and at larger races - no issues at all - the time it takes to top off a dodc lipo is not very long - if you get the dodc battery and motor you can run anywhere - if you run a 13.5 with a 5000 lipo your going to be in the 13.5 mod class - the only advantage to a 5000 lipo is you can run 2 heats befor a recharge - but your excluded from dodc classes - just a bunch of info for ya - kind of sounds like blah blah blah - lol

having everyone on the same page would be great!!!
sticking with 1 battery is the way to go. i have been to this track yet but if you have traction then there would be an advatage in battery or if i was losing to a 5000 mah battery most people would like to think they lost because of it.
as brock said we are looking forward in trying this track out:thumbsup:

true that if you were beat by a 500o and you had a 3200 you would feel that there was an advantage - thats why i am all for the dodc package - then you know its driver and set up - and not motor and batery - hope to see some new faces this year -

The idea is to have DODC classes and mod classes for this year only. That way people can use up what they have in the mod class and the DODC classes provide the equality everyone seems to want. Next year there will only be DODC. We are just trying to make sure everyone can run with the least amount of outlay for this year. That is the same reason that the entries are only $13 and $10 this year. Hope to see you all here this season.

We practice around 4 pm - start around 7ish - run till were done - then run practice at the end for about 20 or 30 min - full stocked hobby shop - and a lot of friendly racers willing to help anyone - i myself am the official soldering expert along with track maintance and what ever else pop's up -
were running the dodc rules for the electric classes - but also have mod for them as well for those who do not have the dodc package - this will last for this season and next year will be full dodc - this is so you dont have to run right out and spend a bunch of cash at one time just to race - you can use what you have and take time to gather what you need to be dodc legal - the nitro classes will be decided when we see who shows up with what - right now i know of about 5 drivers with trucks , (jato ,rc10 )
we run foam tires for the most part and sometimes rubber street tread tires - no pin spikes at all - if you have any questions feel free to contact the shop (george) or shoot me a pm i'll be happy to help in any way that i can -

If anyone is confused about the mod or spec class here's what george has on his website. This helped me out at first because i didn't know what DODC even meant.
We are going to accept the DODC RULES PACKAGE. WE will also run a MOD EDM, MOD LM, and MOD SPRINT CLASS with A 13.5 NOVAK LIMIT and a 5000 BATTERY LIMIT FOR THIS YEAR ONLY,(next year will be DODC battery required and thus no need for the mod class) and if 4 or more show up with anything from a 10.5 TO 2.5, we will gladly run a SUPER MOD EDM or SPRINT CLASS. This should allow for anything from 2008 and include the new rules and classes!

somewhere around a 78/56 would do you good....maybe a little lower depending on how you run. Ed got the key though, batteries at LA dont always mean much. I barely scrathed my 4500 last year and never once worried about running short. The 3200 and a good charger will be plenty. If your kids are young running a beginners class...same deal. I ran my little guy on some old 3600's and a 19 turn spec and he did great...

2.4 is what john has in his cars as do most of us - most of our cars are custom works or terminator based - putnam ect.
