The numbers are in and after only two National events in the inaugural DODC National Points Championship 221 competitors competing in 13 points paying races have made up a total of 366 entries and collected an overall total of 164,301 points.
While no competitors have reached the 8 race threshold yet current point’s leader Frank Deiny sits atop the charts with 1931 points after a strong 1, 2 finish at the Chili Bowl and a pair of “A” Main appearances at the February Freeze. Trailing Deiny closely by only 29 points sits Russ Lebo who ran 4 classes at the Freeze making three “A” main appearances.
The points race is sure to tighten up as only the top 8 races from each racer will be used to tabulate the points total for the national champion. With the national championship being determined by your top 8 races the door is wide open for someone to enter the battle even if they have yet to compete in an event this year. Future DODC point’s events will include one selected race from each DODC participating track, one selected race from each DODC touring series, and DODC National events. Keep checking DODC for schedules as each track and series determines which race they will be making their National Points race.
