I am interested in getting one of the below transponders. I have done alot of research on these and before I buy I would like to hear some input from the tracks that we will be running in the ONS.

for those of you that don't know, you can get transponders here for $57 (i believe shipped). the work with AMB systems. the one's that are $57 numbers are not unique, but it comes program with 21 numbers so who cares.

If you are not familuar with these they basically take your PT and clone it. I have seen some concerns from track owners on conflict issues. So what do the track owners on this series say.

It's $75 to clone one unless you trade them your AMBrc PT, then its $57. Then it cost another $9 for S&H. Its still cheaper than $100. I would also like to know about these.

they are 52.89 for a new one shipped to the US not a clone, it has your own number that doesnt conflict with any AMB

Our system has house transponders and accepts personals, bring it along and try it,if it doesnt work you could always use a house transponder.

ovaloldtimer is correct... the one for $52.89 includes one unique number plus 20 additional numbers. if u order only 1 u get free shipping as well. the mrt personals work w/ all amb systems that amb personals work with.

i just ordered 10 of the r9981's . for the r9981's u do not have to send your pt in. u only have to send them in if u order the cloned version(the bottom 3 on the first page, the first 6 are all non-clones)

Donnie,

I think the AMB personals come from Italy. Not sure they are made there but AMB the company is in Italy.

The guy I talked to at the Mid West Champs said that he had been to a couple of tracks (off-road) on the east coast that would not let him run the MRT. The reason he said was they were worried about conflicts. Here is the reasoning he gave me. If you send your PT over there for Cloning and get lets say 2 cloned off of your orginal. Then you sell your orginal and keep the two MRT's, then there are 3 PT's that have the same number and the guy that bought your orginal could show up at an event with the same number as your two cloned pieces.

Now chances are it will never happen. But you can see where this could go.

Heck you get your cloned pieces done and sell your orginals and you could almost be debt free on PT's LOL!

Anyway, hope that helps. I guess what I was really asking is if I buy one of these will all of the ONS tracks allow me to run them!
That simple.

if there's ever a conflict between a cloned mrt and a true amb the the guy w/ the mrt should have to not run his or switch. that's how most series/large races handle it.

The real deal wins....That simple Love it.

I mean for me its not an issue. I will keep my orginal and get it cloned. I cant ever see myself without two cars. So I will always need two. If I do sell out I will make it an all or nothing deal.

Simple..or am I missing something here.

TA I am agreeing with you.....LOL

There are about 5 of us that have been using them for the last 3 months at Crazy Boyz and they work great. 3 of us were at the "Freeze" and they worked with no problems at all.

We ordered 14 through Tom Thumb Hobbies and it was 11 days. Ours were not cloned. It does take a little longer to have them cloned (14 days).
