Congrats to Brian Dodson from Madison NC, this past Saturday he TQ'd and went on to win the A-main at Coopers RC in NC. In the process he set a new track record with 46 laps 4:02 in the 13.5 class.
Thanks,
Mike

Congrats Brian. Bring that record setting ride to the Freeze. Look forward to seeing everyone @ Coopers in April for the JRC/electric race. By the way, I also went 52laps @ 4flat w/my JRC sprinter @ Bumps & Jumps this past Saturday. That is the fastest anyone has gone there in an electric sprinter, but records don't count when done in a main. Don't ask why, because we don't understand either ! GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith Steinle:thumbsup::checkeredflag:

Records from a main don't count?!?!? That's kind of funny...at my local track records don't count from Heats.

I believe records don't count from MAINS because the first lap is typically recorded at a very short time, like less than 1 or 2 seconds. This is because the starter usually hits the button when the leader is coming out of turn 4 and approaching the start/finish line.
This is my understanding anyway, I could be wrong.
In the heats, because you are on your own time, each lap is a "true lap".
With this said, I agree not to count MAINS toward "4-minute" track records. Single lap records should count with HEATS or MAINS.

That very well could be Andy, but in electric we start on the front stretch so that shouldn't be an issue. Now someone correct me if im wrong, but our time for the first lap should start when we trip the computer going into turn 1. Im sure its not setup that way, because when that horn sounds to start a main, so does the computer, but why not set it up so the first lap starts when you hit the line going into 1 ???????? Guess that makes too much sense . Oh well guess i'll just have to go 53 in a heat this coming weekend :D:thumbsup:. GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith S.
