The new replacement motors have shipped and will be to us next week. If you have the first version of the DODC Spec motor you will need to return it in order to recieve the new DODC Spec motor. Please note that the old motor is no longer legal for DODC spec racing, you must return it for the replacement motor if you intend to use it for DODC spec class racing. At this point there will be 4 options for recieving your replacement motor. Racers who are local to either C&S Raceway or Bumps and Jumps Raceway will be able to return their existing motors to Steve Bess or Chris Mckinney beginning next weekend at either of those two tracks. If you are not local to one of those tracks you must send your motor to one of the two addresses listed below:

Putnam Propulsion
18B Hillside Ave
Albany, NY 12205

or

Custom Works RC Products
760-B Crosspoint Drive
Denver, NC 28037

In order that we can quickly and easily facilitate the replacement of the motors I am asking all racers who need the replacement motor to send an email to rcutman@aol.com with your name, address and simply stating if you would like to pick up your motor at C&S or Bumps & Jumps, or if you will be sending your motor to Putnam or CW for replacement. This will help us to insure that we have an adequate number of motors at each location to quickly facilitate the exchanges. Racers who will be attending the February Freeze at Bumps and Jumps and would like to exchange their motor their may also indicate that by listing Bumps and Jumps as your replacement option.

****All motors must be returned and exchanged no later than February 28th 2009****

After that date no exchanges of old motors will be available.

Thank you all for your patience and allowing us the time to come to a sufficient solution to this issue. We feel that the direction we have chosen for the new spec motor will allow us to provide the racers with a dependable and reliable product for many years to come.

Thanks,
Rob Cutman

For the race at bumps and jumps will we still be able to use the novak motor in the 13.5 spec classes because that is what was said early?

Rob Cutman

Yes, that is still an option for the freeze.

I just wanted to say that my motors were sent in to custom works on Tuesday and they were in my my mailbox on Friday. I was in no particular hurry since I have not been able to race lately. I was expecting this to take a week or two. Thanks for replacing our motors and doing it so quickly! Great Job!

We did start shipping motors last week to those who are not coming to the freeze. If you will not be at the Freeze you need to send your motors in to either Custom Works or Putnam Propulsion to recieve your replacement motors. As stated in the opening posts all exchanges must be done by the end of Februrary.

Thanks,
Rob

Hats off to Rob & all those involved in the process to replace the DODC motors. I know this was a huge undertaking & probably costly also, but if problems in the future are handeled like this ,then I think were all in good hands.

I got my replacement motor Saturday @ Bumps & Jumps, & TQ'ed w/the DODC package in Latemodel. Went 53 laps & if not for some trouble I could of gone 55 or 56 laps.

Thanks again, GO FAST TURN LEFT ! Keith S

Got my new motors also. They look like over the counter novaks with a DODC sticker. Now all of us who have run novaks in the past know we have a dependable motor and this issue is resolved with out even testing them. Thanks Charlie!!!

I hope Losi is paying for this! I tried to voice my opinion to them directly but they dont respond on the issue. I did not want to bother u thru the motor mess/holiday period. So if you need any help at all, info on the trouble I had, etc please ask. I will be happy to do anything you ask concerning the problem with losi motors.
Thanks Rob!!!

Now we have the spec class that everyone tried to do with brushed motors and nicad/nimh batteries and failed. DODC ROCKS! :checkeredflag:

Thank you all for your support. I do appreciate the kind words.

Brian,
Losi is working with us on the motor issue and we won't have to eat any of them when it's all over with. They understand and are very sorry for the problems that arose with the motors at the open wheel race. Obviously the motors had some issues that were likely beyond their control and they have done everything within their ability to correct this issue for us.

That said, there is a time frame involved in getting this rectified which is why it is imperative that anyone with the Losi motor needs to have it exchanged as soon as possible through the avenues listed above.

Ok just wanted to be sure you got a square deal. I had a ton of fun with some new friends in the pits so the motor thing did not tke away from the fun. I love my losi 1/8 electric conversions buggy/truggy They have good support when I had a problem with the kit ( I cheated and used castle stuff lol). Good to hear they are doing the right thing about the motors. I hate to say it but the problem got into their over the counter motors, see a few bad ones like at the USOWC. Thank you all for your support. I do appreciate the kind words.

Rob,

Since the new DODC 17.5s are not in yet - when do we need to have them swapped out or returned?

The only DODC 17.5's are here in NY Bob. We will swap them out for the new Novak's as soon as they arrive. I will come up with a deadline once the Novak's arrive.

Thanks,
Todd

I am happy, (and relieved) to announce the new Novak DODC 13.5's performed flawlessly at Bumps-n-Jumps 2009 February Freeze.

It was great to get to talk to so many of you in person. Thanks for your patience, all the kind words and support you have shown the DODC.

With 80 racers supporting the 13.5 DODC classes, it was a huge success! It was great to see many of the early competing and enjoying themselves in the DODC classes. Congrats to all the winners!

Ok, sorry I did not know you were refering to the 17.5's in particular. Thought you meant motors in general.

Most of the DODC tracks should have them in stock. I know that Bumps & Jumps has them for sure.
