The track is very nice - and its close to home for me like 1 min away - there are plans for a pit lane and raising and moving the drivers stand back a few feet - those that race there on a weekly basis are like a big family - we always welcome new racers the extra competition is great - each week a few new faces show up - and with some of the other tracks in pa closing la speedway is still here and would love to see even more racers - some of the events for this year are a 150 lap race 4th of july weekend - the race for the cure - with all money raised going to cancer research - our fall classic toward the end of the season - a dodc points race - i forgot the date for that - i'll fix it later - all of the points races for the year do not conflict with the pa nitro tour - anyone wanting to race and have a good time come on down - it just might be worth the trip -

it definitly is worth coming up. I started R/C racing two years ago and I went there. I used to come and go a lot. I stayed in the field behind the track with a few people. My first race I didn't have my tires glued (didn't know i was supposed to--lol) and Chris (activethunder) took my truck off the track and glued them for me. he also gave me a better pinion for the track and adjusted my suspension. I won my second race with the setup. And the countless times he soldered something for me. Everyone there, like chris said, is like a family. It definitly is worth comeing up and trying out this awesome track.
Gene helped me get a body that i liked to race with.
Ed showed me how to chance the shock oil, (it made a huge difference).
George has also been a HUGE helpto me, picking out parts and telling me how to adjust my set-up.
I just wanted to say thanks to all you guys for helping me into R/C dirt oval. I've got it this year!
Good luck to everyone for the 09 season.:greenflag:
Now it needs to get here.:revs:

Are those electric late models?

Thanks.

are those electric late models?

Thanks.

yes they are - most classes are electric - the nitro is growing - but our biggest class last year was edm then latemodel and sprint -

12 to 15 edm's
10 or so late models
8 or so sprints -
new for this year are the losi 1/10 sliders - stock class -
and mini late models -
as it looks this year the above fields are going to grow a lot - maybe even double -
a few tracks in pa have closed and it seems that some are going to travel to race at la speedway - also have talked to a few people out in the ny area and there seems to be quite a few heading down as well - i think that this is going to be a big race night on saturdays - i know i cant wait for spring -
anyone interested in coming down to check things out and meet some of the other racers we are having a work day on april 4th -

I have been reading some of these boards and wondering if the direct drive is legal at your track and under the DODC rules?

Thanks Again for the answers.

direct drive is legal for the dodc classes - as for the non dodc class i will have to check - i know that last year it had to be a 3 gear reduction - i do not know if that has changed for the 09 season - i will check today and post it tonight

Absolutely, especially after finding out that the DODC battery and motor rule is in place thru 2010 for the spec motor and battery deal. Much better program than pan car with everything changing monthly at times as soon as something new comes out, banannas:checkeredflag:
