Dan,
No deaf ears here. You gotta give me more than 2 hours to look at this stuff. this is the first chance I had to get on since yesterday. Have a little patience please. What's your question?

I like the concept just wish it would have been refined a little bit I think it should be divided up in classes and then use the points for seeding for the open wheel

The Open Wheel has always been an open race. I don't think this would be a good idea for that. Just my opinion.

I not saying it should have anything to do with entry you missed uderstood what i was saying just saying the people that do enter that have points in this you could take the top guys in the points and put them in the same heat and then resuffle from there thats all just enabling skill levels in the heats more even

Am I the only person that prefers the "old" method of qualifying? (no reshuffling)

It seems like it's more fair to have heats be a mix of fast and slow cars, talented and not-so talented drivers. In fact, the Open Wheel race used to have time trials Friday night to ensure this happened.

I know some of the fast guys will complain when they can't avoid the slow cars and don't get a good run in, but that's what that little wheel and trigger are for that you hold in your hands during the race.

The sanctioned nationals used to be 4 rounds of heats with no shuffling (I think they started shuffling the final round at some point). You would actually get to know the guys in your heat because you raced with them every round.

Maybe I am living in the past....and this is off topic anyhow.

As far as the DODC points, this is a good thing. It will be interesting to watch and I hope Rob has some kind of automated way to calc the points - looks like a lot of work!

Sort of reminds me of the world golf standings except that it will reset every year....

Many of the races wont be running all of the same classes. Dont want to have 15 national champions with some of them only ever racing guys at their own tracks. We are hoping to integrate this into the Open Wheel race somehow but have not decided on exactly how that will happen. Could still use the points results to seed heats if we chose even though classes are not separated it really shouldn't matter from th at standpoint. As I said we will have more details on the rest of the program in the coming days.

Thanks,
Rob
