hey rob
as long as it stays within the dimensions, can we put a small wicker on the top edge of the cap?

Can this be squared?

If we have to use this spoiler support or cap it will not work with a 2.75" chord spoiler. How do we make this spoiler cap work with a 2.75" spoiler. Also do both sides of these side caps have to be symetrical?

Those are maximums. No one says you have to make it to the max, nor would that mean they have to be symmetrical.

u just have to leave the spoiiler stick up past the side cap

Depending on the angle from 33deg min. to 40 deg max. this side cap will accomodate a spoiler up to 3" without a wicker. But it can't be mounted flush to the corner, like the rules state.

Spoiler can not stick up above the side cap.

used to be. They got us all confused with these new drawings. I might just show up with about 20 spoilers and let them pick out what they want.

you need to add about .75" to the overall length for an Eldora body at stock angle (42 deg approx) and add almost 1/2" in height for a Concord (at 52 deg approx) to accomodate a 2.75 inch spoiler without anything sticking out. these are rough approximations.

I have it cadded up if you want to see....
if you change it to 4.0" overall length and 2.25" high from top of the deck you should accomodate all the bodies using the stock molded in angles.

:confused: print it out and rotate it....;)
Oh and I did leave out the excess for mounting it to the body for a reason...kinda self-exlanitory

No, must be flat.
Can this be squared?
No but that drawing would have been a whole lot simpler, lol

Im not sure what difference it makes how long the spoiler is. As stated above if you are running a long enough spoiler than it may stick up above or beyond the spoiler cap at some point but that is ok.

Actually its about as simple as it could be. Side cap can not be any bigger than the drawing and the spoiler cant be longer than 2.75". Doesnt get much easier than that.

Rob,
Thanks for the drawing! That should make it easier to make the end caps. I plan on drawing it up in CAD and just printing it full scale...and BAM...instant template! :D

That’s what I usually do and it works great. If you print it on label stock you can stick it right to the sheet of lexan and cut along the lines and your good to go.

I havent run the new side panels yet, but after making my first set, looking at them, and looking at my old set, not a whole lot of difference, which makes me happy!

BeachYou won't see a big change in handling if you have had a good a chassis setup which you do a side cap is not going to make a differnce.

your dimensions are wrong the max length is 3.25" not 4"
Rob the original drawing in your 1st post is the legal one correct?
Mason

he was showing the spoiler difference between the steepest and flatest spoilered bodies available. the first drawing is the legal limit of all the dimensions. ie the box in which you must play.
