Unlike the Novak, Putnam brushless motors have holes in the can. Should I clean it regularly? And how do I clean it? Motor spray? Thanks in advance for the info.

I would use an air compressor
Could even take it apart and blow it out if your up to the task,

I would be hesitant to use motor spray as some react badly with plastics and such, it may destroy the sensor boards in the end.

if you use an RC motor spray, not brake cleaner, then you should be ok. i would stay away from an air compressor unless you use low pressure, as that may push dirt into the bearings.

So possibly disassemble the motor and use a combination of compressed air and Performance Plus? Another question.. I run on a hard packed track, not a foam tire track, but still pretty packed, how often do you think disassembly and cleaning should happen?

It depends on how dirty the motors gets, so use your best judgement -but there is no such thing as too often or too clean.

Be sure not to blow the dirt into the bearings, (as Chris mentioned) and be sure not to hit the bearings with motor spray - this will flush away the lubricant inside the bearings.

Thanks Todd. By the way, that motor is AWESOME fast. Probably too fast.
